Pastor’s Pause: “What Are You Wearing?

Change the former way of life that was part of the person you once were, corrupted by deceitful
desires. Instead renew the thinking in your mind by the Spirit and clothe yourself with the new
person created according to God’s image in justice and true holiness –Ephesians 4:22-24 CEB

If you are looking to buy some new clothes, now seems the perfect time. It seems most of the
stores have sales going now. The Spring/Summer clothes are on clearance as stores look to get
rid of inventory to make room for the Fall/Winter clothes. If you have school aged children in your
house, you are looking for bargains on new school clothes, shoes, coats, etc.

As Christians, what should we be wearing? In her devotional book, Jesus Calling, Sarah Young
says we are to wear the “robe of righteousness” with ease. That robe has been made special for
each one of us. There is no cost to us – Jesus already paid the price with His redeeming blood.
That is wonderful news, indeed! So, what are you wearing?

Jesus paid it all,

All to Him I owe;
Sin had left a crimson stain,
He washed it white as snow.
