INTRODUCTION:

The knowledge and experience I have gained through my education, Master’s in

Biotechnology (Nutraceuticals) and thereafter from working is extensive. I am
passionate about writing articles on nutrition and being a dietician and nutritional
counsellor. From my work experience with Kolors Healthcare, I was dedicated and
received good feedback from clients.

WORK EXPERIENCE:

Email Counsellor: Banjara Academy- July 2016-Present

Provide online counseling for relationship issues, marital issues, self-esteem issues, addiction,
stress, anxiety and depression.

I have got a really good response from clients who have even stated how helpful and re-
assuring my reply was to their concerns.

Nutritionist: Kolors Health Care India Pvt Ltd- March 2017-Jan 2018

My role here is to help clients with weight loss. I was required to prepare diet charts for clients
suffering from Obesity and also other ailments such as Hypothyroidism, PCOD and Diabetes. 

I also counselled clients who are addicted to smoking and alcohol, and also advised Stress
Management Techniques to clients suffering from anxiety and depression. 

Emotional Counselor: Mallige Medical Center Bangalore- December 2015-January 2017

I have been appointed as Counselor with Helping Hand, my role is to counsel patients who are
going through periods of anxiety and depression. I treat various kinds of patients from those
suffering from food poisoning, cancer, kidney problems and so on. I counsel patients in general
ward and ICU. 

My role as a counselor is to offer patients and care givers with strength of positive hope and
optimism to cope with and tackle the illness they are suffering. I also provide tips on relaxation
techniques such as indulging in laughter with family, listening to music and devotional songs,
reading and so on. I have also attended workshop on stress management.

Emotional Counselor: Aruna Chetana School for Children with Multiple Disabilities-
December 2015 to Jan 2016

I got the opportunity to teach and interact with Children with Special Needs who have
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Cerebral Palsy, Down syndrome, Learning
Disabilities and so on. I interacted with the kids and was amazed by the friendly and loving
attitude they show towards people around them, be it their friends, teachers and care-takers. I
counseled the parents of Children with Special Needs and it was a great experience, I praised
them for having faith in their child to lead an independent and full-filing life, and I got an
insight into the kind of challenges they go through bringing up their kids and the kind of
emotions that run through their mind.
Addiction Counselor: Sakthi De-addiction and Rehabilitation Centre- December 2015-
Present
I interacted with addicts who took to their addiction for pleasure, and also because of the stress
issues they faced at home and in the workplace. I gave them unconditional positive regard,
gained insight into the kind of turmoil and feelings they are experiencing. I admired their
courage for being honest with themselves about accepting their addiction with a desire to
recognize and pursue the need to change, and gradually overcome their addiction.

Provided a detailed description on the happenings of various car companies with a view to make
the public aware of new car launches, features of current and new cars, car accessories, market
economy, promotional campaigns.

Skills acquired- Detailed product analysis, market outcomes and sustainability, advertising and

Provided detailed description on different mobile phones of diverse price brackets with the
intention of making the public aware of various versatile and innovative mobile brands and

Research Assistant: University of Agricultural Sciences Bangalore- June 2011-December

I was an experimental scientist and developed novel techniques to improve quality and
sustainability of crops against adverse environmental conditions, needed to strengthen food
security. My role involved 

Crop Physiology and Plant Molecular Biology: 

Observed the sustainability outcomes of groundnut, sunflower and tomato crops to various
adverse environmental conditions such as temperature induced response, Kanamycin stress and
salt stress, and analyzed genes responsible for plants to survive under harsh circumstances
through Plant Molecular Biology techniques such as DNA extraction, Agarose Gel
Electrophoresis and Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR). 
Education:

Master of Biotechnology (Advanced)- The University of Queensland- 2008-2010

Projects: Double encapsulation of fish oil using Spray Aerosol method to produce micro gels,
with alginate as coating agent followed by double coating with chitosan. Measured Total
Phenolic Content [TPC], and Free Radical Scavenging Activity in different varieties of apples;
Red Delicious, Royal Gala and Granny Smith.

I have specialized in Nutraceutical research, and have worked on a couple of projects

emphasizing on novel formulation research and nutritional power of foods for a healthy and
sustainable living

Counseling Psychology- Banjara Academy- 2015-2016

Activities and Societies: Institutional Visits to hospitals, Non-Governmental Organizations,

disability centers and schools

Gained hands on knowledge on human behavior such as Self-Awareness, emotions, Management

of Emotions, understanding children, understanding adolescents, understanding young adults,
understanding disability, unmasking, suicide prevention, counseling alcohol and drug addicts,
grief counseling, child abuse, understanding ego and congruence and adult sexuality.

Visited special needs school, addiction center and hospitals to gain significant exposure of
various kinds of counseling needs.
