I noticed the videos that was shown were an example of Functions on Communication.
The first video is an example of Information Function, the speaker (Chris Anderson) was giving
his thoughts or information on what “idea” is and how it can change the perspective of someone
on something. The second video is an example of Motivation Function, in which the speaker
(Nick Vujicic) gave his encouraging words during his speech, he also talked about the
importance of parenting in early childhood and its significance. Presented his life experiences
(guy without limbs) as an example to turn walls into doors and obstacles into opportunities. That
even if we won’t receive a miracle in our life, we can be a miracle to someone else.

The remaining videos are Emotional Expression, both speakers expressed their emotions.
Vice Ganda’s poetry was about “mother”, where he/she described the hardships/troubles they
would go through for their child. The delivery of his/her message/poetry was in an
understandable and calm manner. Where the listeners not only able to feel what he/she want to
express but also know how to respond. Sabrina Benaim’s poetry was about her explaining to her
mother about depression. She’s explaining to her mother how insomnia and anxiety keeps her
awake and how depression bothers her. Delivery of the message was in a hurried way as if being
chased. Which made her message not promptly understand. Even though the message she was
conveying was good but due to her exaggeration, the message lost it’s value.
