CONCLUSION: -
A total of 36 responses were collected and analysed. Based on the responses
the following conclusions are drawn.
Although many are aware of the view outside the windows, some of them
seem to be unaware of the same. The passer-by does cause some distractions
sometimes to the students sitting inside, but a small percentage of them do nit
care and seem unbothered about the disturbances caused due to the external
movements. Overall majority of them moderately enjoy the view outside while
a few do not seem intrigued.
Most of the students do not tend to open the windows due to noise coming
from nearby buildings and construction activities and the roadside traffic. Wind
flow and Dust is another reason for not opening the windowpanes, but the
response to harsh sunlight is very less. Seems like they enjoy the light entering
the classroom.
Since the classroom is mostly occupied during the morning sessions, Students
prefer the morning light compared to the noon or afternoon ones, as the data
is not adequate to judge the exact conditions. The number of windows thus
provided, and the sizes of the opening seem to be adequate for the classroom
dimensions and it is one of the reasons why most if them prefer to sit near to
the windows, and no one like to sit away from it.
The placement of the window openings is taken in a positive way by most of
the users and feel that the space is adequately ventilated. While the majority
of users tend to open the windows completely during summer season, there is
a tie in votes for rainy and winter season. Autumn is the second most preferred
season and some of them feel that window opening should not be limited to
seasonal changes.
When asked about the user friendliness, they were quite satisfied with the
operability of the panes, although would like to make certain change such as
adding a 3-track system and tints to the window if provided with the
opportunity.
The overall response to the survey was a positive on as most of them seem to
be satisfied and happy with the current state of the openings.
