Use of Hop up platform to access pipework in B1 Mezz shower room

Current methods of access on site are unsuitable for install in the B1 Mezz Shower room due to dimension restrictions, Operatives
will be required to use a hop up platform to carry out the task.

• Hop ups are to be used for short duration works only.

• Operatives are to ensure good housekeeping is employed in the area and there are no obstructions within proximity to the
platform.

• Operatives are to dismount and move the platform when required, no overreaching or attempting to shuffle the platform along.

• Operatives must position themselves as close to the centre of the platform as reasonably practicable.

• Operatives to ensure foot locking mechanism is engaged when in use.

• Operatives are to ensure the platform is only used on stable, firm, level ground.

• Platforms must have a minimum dimension of 600mm x 600mm.

• Materials and tools are not to be placed on the platform whilst in use by an operative.

• SWL of platform is 150KG, this is not to be exceeded under any circumstance.

• Although hop ups are a relatively simple item of equipment operatives MUST still read the manufacturers instructions on use
and inspect the platform for defects before each use.

Operatives carrying out these works are to have been briefed on this document and signed to confirm they have understood the
requirements.
