1. How do you foresee the use of technology and the internet in our daily lives?
The most valuable benefit is that the internet will provide you with knowledge and education. It
connects us to a variety of websites and blogs that provide us with useful information for our
studies. It assists people in learning a variety of skills and gaining experience that they can use in
their everyday lives.

2. How did the government help its citizen to become more media and information literate?
It helps avoid both knowing and sharing misleading facts and making public awareness about
what is going on in our country accessible. The government is educating the public on what is
going on in the world by involving the media.

3. What makes people, in general, a media and information literate?


Since media literacy involves being able to view, interpret, and assess knowledge obtained via
media. We can free our minds if we have these media literacy skills. We can make our own
decisions and conclusions. We may also express ourselves innovatively and effectively.

1. Define media and information literate individual.


A media and information-literate individual is a person who can analyze and evaluate. Being
literate in media and information will give us an advantage in today's world, especially in terms
of giving and gathering information, since we will be able to identify the number of inaccurate
and true information in various types of media, particularly in the media.

2. Enumerate the benefits media can offer to an individual and to the society.
The benefits are improved quality of life; communication has been made easier; information has
become widely accessible. Greater political participation; Information the public of the political
affairs in the country. Better economic opportunities; the influence of media offerings has led to
creating more jobs in the media. Improvement learning environment; made learning a choice,
social learning environment. More cohesive social unit; social technologies are changing the way
we collaborate and communicate with each other.

BENEFITS

● Language Development - Facebook requires students to express themselves and communicate


in a written format. While it might not be proper writing, it’s at least writing something. 
● Interpersonal Communication - a key skill for personal development and future employment.
● ICT Skills - With the draw of Facebook to encourage them, students learn ICT skills without the
need for boring step-by-step instruction. They gain skills through peer learning as well, feeding
back into interpersonal communication and group collaboration.

CHALLENGES

● Safety - The things you post on Facebook can also leave you vulnerable to other threats such as
stalkers. While the risk might seem small, putting too much personal information online leaves
you vulnerable to stalkers and other unscrupulous people.
● Legal - Internet posts often cause misunderstandings and fights due to the lack of person-to-
person interaction. However, some fights on the Internet can go too far when particular threats
or language are used

[WHAT’S NEW] ACTIVITY


1. What is the tone of this fraudulent message?
The tone of the message is excitement. The tone of the message conveys you follow it without a
second thought.

2. Why do you think Filipino fall for this kind of fraudulent or scam text message?
Some Filipinos will fall for this kind of scam simply because of the money rewarded. Many
Filipino netizens are not financially stable, they get hooked by this scam message because of the
involvement of money they think it can help them for daily living that’s why they believe the
message is true.

3. Do you think that text–based messages are powerful?


Yes, because of this type of message some individuals can easily fall for this. Choosing the right
words, encouraging words that believable someone will surely fall for this especially those who
need money; emphasizing that they will get rewarded money and one of the reasons the
scammers make the target believe that the message is true.
[WHAT’S MORE] ACTIVITY

1. If you will be writing an application for a job opening, what font will you be using and why?
It will be Arial font because I’m way comfortable using Arial as a font on writing for applying for
a job opening. I chose Arial because it gives a clean and minimalist look to the text. I want my
application form to simple, clean, neutral, and easy to read, making it a safe bet for any industry
or any job opening I’ll take.

2. You plan to create a birthday party greeting for your five – year old niece, what typeface will be
appropriate and why?
I’ll choose decoration because it will suit my five-year-old niece, for sure they're going to love
my birthday greeting. Decoration has various fonts, styles, emotions, (such as celebration, fear,
horror, etc.), or themes (such as cowboys, circus, holiday, summer, kiddie, etc.) And lastly
decoration, these fonts convey uniqueness and emphasize originality.

3. You will create a cleanliness drive campaign poster for your school. Which design principle and
elements will ensure that the text in your poster is readable?
First, the appropriateness of the poster is how it's suitable to the campaign and the choice of
words must be specific and appropriate to easily understand. Use emphasis on some words that
will catch the eyes of your target, emphasize the significant words that will help your campaign
poster to be noticed by the students. Using alignment appropriately and lastly, I will use a
contrast that will create visuals to my campaign poster and it can be noticed by several students.

1. Define text and text – media.


Text in its most basic form, a text is described as a piece of written or spoken content (as
opposed to a paraphrase or summary). Any length of vocabulary that can be read in context is
referred to as a text. The text media Publications that disseminate information. Media products
such as newspapers, flyers, books, magazines, tarpaulins, advertisements, television, banners,
websites, and posters.

2. Enumerate the elements of text media and discuss each.


the elements of text media are:
emphasis - giving value to the important text, bolding a text that will bring attention to it.
appropriateness - refers to how the text will be suitable for audiences.
proximity - elements that are related to each other.
alignment - the position of the text, it can left, right, center, or justify.
organization - refer to organizing the elements on a text.
repetition - simply repeating an element many times on a text.
contrast - when two elements are different from each other.
3. Understanding the function of different typefaces will help us….
To recognize and what will be suitable in a kind of text. Knowing the different typefaces will add
value to your text. It will help us know the basic approach of using typefaces is selecting the
correct font, the basic approach of using typography is selecting the correct font. It provides an
attractive appearance and preserves the aesthetic value of your content. Significance of knowing
the function of different typefaces is, it is a medium of communication, it attracts the readers, it
holds the audience's attention, it conveys a certain mood or feeling, it creates and builds
recognition, it reflects professionalism (based on what you are going to use).

4. Differentiate text producers from text consumers.


text producers are the ones responsible to create a visual text based on the; target audience,
author, or sender, key content, purpose, form /style, and format. While the text consumers are
the audiences who are evaluating a text or visual text, they need to consider who/what is
sending the message, the language used of the author, techniques used to attract attention, and
how the message will be interpreted in many ways.
