Answer the following guide questions below based from the movie “Inside Out”

1. What emotion do you feel most often?

These days I might feel negative emotions but the emotion I feel
oftentimes is happiness and gratefulness.

2. Have you ever gone through a big transition like Riley? (Even just
transitioning from elementary to middle school?)

Yes, when I was in 7th grade. I experience a great emotional change. I


experience the hardest moment in my life. I experience depression and
loneliness. I have some regrets and I hope that things might change.

3. Can you name a “core memory?” Why does that memory stick out to
you? What emotion do you associate with that memory? (everyone
answers)

One of my core memories is on February 02, 2022 in Davao City


Coastal Road. It was 4th day after the opening when me and my
classmates decided to visit it. This is the day I finally confessed my
feelings to my crush which is also my classmate. That day was associated
with mostly joy and a little bit of fear.

4. Why did the core memory change when sadness touched it?

Because when sadness touched the core memories they will blues and
the happy memories will turn into sad ones.

5. What personality islands do you have?

Family, Leadership, Anata, Friendship, Anime, Boy Scout Islands.

6. Riley feels pressure to be happy or “joyful” and hides her true feelings
from her parents. Have you ever felt pressured to act happy when you
weren’t?

Yes, when I do not want my family to know my problem. I act happy


when I interact with them but when I am alone in my room, I want to cry but I
cannot.

7. Joy eventually realized the importance of Sadness. Why do you feel


that other emotions are important?

Each emotion has a specific purpose: Fear and Anger help Riley
determine her flight-or-fight response. Disgust helps her stay away from
unsavory situations. Joy helps Riley stay away from painful experiences and
seek out happy ones. And Sadness, ultimately, helps Riley gain empathy and
sympathy during times of loss.

8. What emotions do you feel are easy to express?

I feel that happiness is the easiest emotion to express. I have a


difficulty in expressing my other emotions sometimes because I consider
what will other people might think and because I am a boy.

9. Are some emotions bad?

There are bad emotions if you will let it runs through your head such
as hate, anger, jealousy, and sadness. If these negative emotions will
overload your mind, it might cause some bad consequences.

10. What are some ways you cope with sadness? Anger? Fear? Disgust?
(Everyone gives one coping skill for one emotion)

Sadness- Acknowledge what’s happening.


Anger- Once you're calm, express your concerns.
Fear- Don't try to be perfect.
Disgust- Remember to breathe.

11. When Riley gets angry at the dinner table, did that help her situation?
How could she have expressed her emotions to her parents in a helpful
way?

She should have let herself calm first before expressing her concerns.
Anger causes her to not say her concerns in a mild manner way. The
problem could be resolve easily if she done it the right way.
