IMPORTANCE OF COMMUNITY ORGANIZING IN OUR DAILY

Community organizing is the essence of community because it is community in

action. Every member of a community has similarity with each other – it might be their
belief, address or goal. Community organizing thoroughly studies and analyzes a
certain idea, issue, or problem therefore, the result, depends on the people participating,
will make our daily life a little bit more convenient or better. For example, in our
baranggay, there is a fly problem – there is a poultry that causes a swarm of flies.
Because of this, a lot of us, near the poultry is suffering everyday because of the flies.
We cannot eat properly because they are just flying over our food and our mouths – it
was an absolute mess. We bought insecticides – that could cause illnesses in the long
run and fly traps that is dangerous for our pets and hard to get off if you accidentally
drop your clothes unto it. The inconvenience could turn to a bigger problem in the near
future. This could cause more expenses, health issues, and accidents.
Community organization may also have a significant influence on the lives of
adolescents, lowering crime rates. Better local grades and reduced truancy rates have
been linked to organizing methods that give strong role models for youth. In
consequence, reduced truancy rates are linked to decreased crime rates. In a 2013 study
of Illinois convicts, the Chicago Tribune discovered that 74 percent had been designated
"chronic truants" at some time in their education.
The repercussions aren't limited to crime rates. According to research, when
individuals become active in their communities, their children imitate these behaviors
later in life - independent of peer pressure. That implies that participation in
community organizing not only helps to improve existing circumstances, but it also
helps to impart important skills to the next generation and set the foundation for a more
unified future.
Just like a ripple that could be a bigger wave in time, our daily life is composed of these
small things and these small inconveniences or small achievements could be a great
impact in our lives. A problem could cause more harm in the long run and an
achievement could bring us joy and security. Therefore, the effect of community
organizing is crucial in our daily lives that because it will bring comfort and safety to
our home and our land.
