Project Completion Report

De los Santos Cruz, Enmanuel

BYU-Idaho: Advanced Writing in Professional Contexts

Spring 2022

Instructor: Anthony Beal

Executive Summary

I gained a variety of writing techniques for use in professional settings throughout this

course. There were sections in the lesson. My employment portfolio was the first item I

worked on. I had the option of creating my own résumé in the Employment Portfolio. I

next had to do some research on a job I was interested in applying for. After doing this,

I had to make a LinkedIn account and list my skill description there. Finally, in the

Employment portfolio, we had to write a cover letter for the employment I was seeking.

The second stage involved selecting a firm from a list of 1000 Fortune Company and

constructing a business portfolio for it. Choosing Microsoft, Inc. I wrote a project

proposal, a business memo, and a business report. I also had to do a lot of research to

write these documents. In this stage I also wrote a recommendation report for the firm I

had chosen.

The third stage involved creating a SWOT analysis of the company. This was a very

comprehensive and detailed analysis of the company where I gained a lot of knowledge

about different writing techniques that can be used in a professional setting. I also
created an agenda for a meeting, wrote minutes of the meeting, and created a

presentation for the meeting.

Overall, I gained a lot of valuable writing skills and knowledge throughout this course

that I can use in my future career.

Post-implementation Review

I expect to transfer the KSAs I gained from the course to my future career. I have

already used some of the writing techniques I learned in the course in my current job.

For example, I have used the SWOT analysis technique to analyze my company's

strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. I have also used the business report

writing technique to write a report on my company's financials.
