What I Can Do
A. Background of the Study
1. Physics education for the twenty-first Century aims to foster high-end reasoning skills and promote
deep conceptual understanding. However, many traditional education systems place a strong
emphasis on only problem solving with the expectation that students obtain deep conceptual
understanding through repetitive problem-solving practices, which often doesn’t occur
(Alonso, 1992).
2. With changing student lifestyles and fast-developing technology, universities are increasingly
offering more “flexible” learning environments. Commensurate with the opportunities that
technological advances afford, for over a decade (Imel, 2002) the provision of online, e-learning
experiences has undergone rapid expansion in the higher education sector.
3. System induced stress is another type of stress identified by psychologists; System refers to
organizations like school, family, office and other such social structures, in which an individual
function. Life becomes tough if any of these structures are stress inducing. (Holahan,Charles, 1982]
This type of stress is highly relevant to under-developing societies in the context of changing
demands in the family and workplace. One group of society which is a victim of system induced
stress is the student community.Stress in academic institutions like schools also pertaining to science
and mathematics related subjects, students are tend to stress themselves. Common reasons of why
students are beingstressed are because of the strict deadlines, too many paper works, problem in
solving mathematically and many more. This stress may come small at first and become big in the
process of learning. The said causes of students’ stress are also causing them to gain failing grades.
4. While in the Philippines, there is no study about how effective was the deadline in measuring the
STEM student’s understanding on subject general physics.
5. The researchers intend to conduct this research to know, analyze, and describe the perceived
difficulties of Grade12 STEM students in solving and understanding General Physics II subject.

Research Title: The Effectiveness of Deadlines Assigned to STEM students in General
Physics
The purpose of this descriptive research is to analyze and determine the effectiveness of deadlines
with regards to the understanding of STEM students in general physics from grade 12 STEM students
for the third week of March to help STEM students to have more understanding of general physics.
C.
Research Question 1: Do you pass your answers in general physics on time?
2: Do you understand the lessons in general physics without supplemental video
discussion?
Additional Activity
Issue Climate Change
General Statement of the Problem How can we minimize the effect of climate change?
Specific Research Question
1. What is causing climate change to happen?
2. How is climate change affecting our planet right now?
