THE ACTUARIAL MODELLING SYSTEM OF CHOICE

Responding to today’s increasingly demanding and rapidly changing regulatory and business practices environment,
insurance companies are turning to FIS Prophet, an enterprise-wide actuarial modelling system, to meet their
reporting responsibilities and to improve their risk management effectiveness. Prophet is acknowledged as the global
market leader in this field and has the largest user base of any actuarial modelling system.

OPTIMIZING A PROPHET STRATEGY

Insurance companies are looking towards the power and flexibility of their FIS Prophet system. As the portfolio of
Prophet libraries and add-on modules continue to expand, a comprehensive knowledge of the Prophet model building
environment and how to optimize that environment becomes increasingly important to maintain.

CERTIFICATION – A TANGIBLE SIGN ON COMPETENCY

Prophet certification, achieved through the Prophet training and assessment process, is an objective FIS approved
measure of Prophet competency that consultants can cite when responding to their customers and when negotiating
Prophet consulting engagements.

THREE CERTIFICATION LEVELS: BRONZE, SILVER AND GOLD

FIS has established three certification levels: Bronze, Silver and Gold. The Bronze level is the easiest to achieve and
focuses on the mechanics of Prophet while the Gold level focuses substantially on actuarial modelling strategies.

CERTIFICATION LEVEL REQUIREMENTS

Points are awarded for participation in training courses, seminars and webinars and for demonstration of competency
through assessment testing. To retain certification, individuals must attend relevant seminars/webinars each year and
attend a re-assessment test every two years from the initial qualification. At any time individuals who wish can
increase their knowledge and upgrade their status by attending the relevant courses/webinars and qualifying at a
higher level

CERTIFICATION: HOW THE PROCESS WORKS

Individuals can achieve one of three certification levels – Bronze, Silver and Gold. Each represents a different skill
level and is awarded based on the accumulation of a minimum number of points earned through attendance at FIS
Prophet basic, intermediate and advanced training courses, seminars and webinars, and through demonstration of
competency on the assessment test.
Individuals completing a training course become eligible for assessment testing, that is an appraisal of their success in
mastering the skills covered by the course. The Prophet Certification Panel (experienced Prophet experts) perform
assessment testing, a practical application of Prophet skills that demonstrate expertise.
The Certification proceeds through three stages:
