General Instructions:
1. The question paper consists of 6 questions divided into 2 sections A & B.
2. All questions are compulsory.
3. Section A comprises of 4 questions of 3 marks each. Internal choice has been provided in
one question.
4. Section B comprises of 2 questions of 4 marks each. Internal choice has been provided in
one question.

Section A
(4× 3= 12)
1. Factorise
(i) 8𝑎3 – 𝑏 3 – 12𝑎2 b + 6a𝑏 2
(ii) 4𝑥 2 + 9𝑦 2 + 16𝑧 2 + 12 𝑥𝑦 – 24 𝑦z – 16 𝑥z

2. In the given figure, ABCD is a trapezium in which AB | | DC, BD is

a diagonal and E is the mid-point of AD. A line is drawn through E
parallel to AB intersecting BC at F. Show that F is the mid-point of BC.

3. If 𝑥 – 4 is a factor of the polynomial p(𝑥) = 2𝑥 3 – 3𝑥 2 – 18𝑥 + k, find the value of k. Also, find the
values of p(0) and p(1).

4. In the given figure A, B, C and D are four points on a circle. AC and

BD intersect at a point E such that ∠ BEC = 130° and ∠ ECD = 20°.
Find ∠ BDC, ∠ BAC and ∠ BFC.

OR

6. ABCD is a trapezium in which AB || CD and AD = BC.

AB is extended and a line CE is drawn through C parallel
to DA (see the given figure).
Show that
(i) ∠ A = ∠ B
(ii) ∠ C = ∠ D
(iii) ∆ ABC ≅ ∆ BAD
(iv) diagonal AC = diagonal BD

OR
In the figure, ABCD is a rhombus, whose diagonals meet at O.

(ii) Find the values of 𝑥 and y.
