Edmund Hillary was born in 1919 in New Zealand. He loved climbing when he was a boy. He wanted

to climb Mount Everest in Nepal, the highest mountain in the world. He went on two expeditions

there in 1951 and 1953. On 29th may 1953, he and a Nepali climber called Tenzing were the first

people to climb to the top of Everest. Hillary died in 2008.
