ARGUMENTATIVE ESSAY

Thesis Statement- This essay serves to agree with the continued closure of schools
in Trinidad and Tobago because it helps prevent further spread of the coronavirus,
easier for children to learn in virtual classes and helps parents save money.

Essay:
The covid19 virus has impacted drastically on our everyday lives, to such an extent
that the government had to close all schools down. This puts a strain on the
economies because of financial loss, lack of trade and commerce, increased death
rate and infringing on the education system that the world is not accustomed to. For
nearly seven months there were no teaching at all for these students. The
government decided to move onto virtual classes for all schools, from kindergarten
go straight up to universities until the covid19 death rate decreases in the country.
At this present time schools continue to teach virtually. This essay serves to agree
with the continued closure of schools in Trinidad and Tobago because it helps
prevent further spread of the coronavirus, easier for children to learn in virtual
classes and helps parents save money.
The first reason why this essay serves to agree with the continued closure of
schools is because it helps prevent further spread of the coronavirus. As we all
know by now that covid19 spreads when someone sneezes or coughs and if the
person has the virus the mucus membranes would go onto a surface and another
person would touch the same surface and contract the disease. When at home, less
or even no students would contract the disease, and it makes it safer for all the
personnel in the school to clean and do maintenance. If schools were to open right
now, no students would stay six feet apart because they would be elated to see
their friends after being apart for practically an entire year and this would have a
drastical effect on the school’s protocol for the prevention of the virus.
The second reason why this essay serves to agree with the continued closure of
schools is because it is easier for children to learn in virtual classes. Almost 95
percent of children worldwide is said to take up work more faster using some kind
of technology. When doing their school work and they do not know something there
is always the internet to search about that specific topic and even YouTube videos to
look at to understand the topic. It is even easier to type work rather than have to
write down notes and essays in our notebook. The work and stress would be less
on the students because they are provided everything at home, from food to pens
and pencils, and do not have to buy food and borrow other peoples’ belongings.
The third and final reason why this essay serves to agree with the continued
closure of schools is because it helps parents save money. The money that parents
save from then to now is drastic, before, parents used to nearly spend 65 percent of
their total money, now they are saving almost 85 percent of their money. The money
that parents save can be used to pay bills and buy stationary for the students. When
students used to go to school the cost of the transportation was overwhelming on
the parents, on average, one hundred dollars per week. When doing online classes
presently they would have to buy less books, and stationary since all the work is on
the student’s phones/ computers. Also they also do not have to give the students’
money every day to buy lunch and snacks, since everything is provided at home for
you.
In clearly identifying all the mentioned point above, I hope that you understand why I
agreed with the continued closure of schools. It prevents the spread of covid19,
makes it easier for children to learn and helps parents to save money. If everyone
stays at home and follow the covid19 guidelines, everyone would be safe and help
prevent this coronavirus from attacking you.
