Hobby presentation
Individually, you will put together a power-point presentation about your hobby. You will present it
in front of your classmates. You can speak about anything that you like to do in your spare time or
that you are interested in, such as sports, make-up, video games, cooking, reading, movies, etc.

Deadlines
Week 35: Hand in your power-point on Progress, in the assignment: “Hobby presentation”

Week 36 (both lessons): Presentations in class

Instructions
1. Pick a hobby that you would like to talk about.

2. Plan your presentation, using a mind map or bullet list:

- What is the hobby you are presenting?

- How did you become interested in your hobby?

- Why do you like your hobby? Why is it important to you?

- Fun facts

3. Find and look up important keywords and vocabulary that you need to use wen talking about your
hobby.

- Use the grid on the next page.

- Include the grid with keywords on the last page of the power-point (but don’t go through it during
your presentation).

4. Create a power-point. Remember:

- Make the power-point interesting by adding pictures, gifs and memes.

- Only include short bullet points and keywords in your power-point.

5. Create a clear structure:

- How can you start your presentation in an interesting and engaging way?

- How can you finish your presentation in a clear way (without saying “ok, I’m done”)?

6. Think about the audience -your classmates:

- How can you make the presentation interesting for your classmates?

-Are there any difficult words that you need to explain to your audience?

7. Practice your presentation. The presentation should be 2-5 minutes long.

Vocabulary
Use the grid to fill in important keywords and vocabulary connected to your hobby. Find either the
English definition or the Swedish translation -the important thing is that you understand the word.
Remember that keywords are not necessarily advanced or difficult words.

For example: if my hobby is “cats”. Important vocabulary is for example: feline, paws, kitten, breed,
domestic, pet.
