A-Ka, a nationwide activity for the benefit of our affiliates and caters to all high school science
clubbers. The annual celebration of the National Science Club Month (NSCM) every September. For
this year, we will be hosting Math-Sci-A-Ka: Online Science Expo with the theme: Genescape: Priming
Perspective, Amplifying Advancements. This event makes students realize that learning could be
made more fun through exciting educational science workshops and activities. This science
expo is a showcase of outstanding research of high school students in the fields of Life and
Applied Sciences. Through this event, the research capabilities and scientific consciousness of
the Filipino Youth are strengthened and enhanced as they become scientists and researchers in
the near future.
Objectives
General Guidelines
1. Any scientific research project done by bona fide high school students (grade 7 - 12) are
qualified to enter Phase I: Pre-evaluation of the science expo
2. The entry can be done individually or by group with a maximum of three (3) students.
The students can come from any academic track. Group entries must be authored by
students coming from the same participating school only.
3. A student is qualified for exactly one (1) research entry only.
4. A research entry is qualified to exactly one (1) category only.
5. Each participating school is only allowed to have a maximum of two (2) research entries
per category.
6. All research entries will then be subjected to Phase I: Pre-evaluation. In this phase, the
organizers will check if the team followed all relevant guidelines and has submitted all
the required documents. In this phase, the organizers will also check if the project was

committed research misconduct: fabrication of data and results, falsification,
manipulation of research materials, including false reference, plagiarism, or any other
actions deemed as research misconduct by the organizers.
11. The organizers reserve the right to change the rules and mechanics if deemed
necessary. Participants will be notified regarding the matter.
Categories

of living organisms and their interrelationship, as well as biological phenomena belong to
this category.
2. Applied Science
This category involves disciplines that apply existing scientific knowledge to develop
more practical applications. It also involves the sciences that deal primarily with nature
