口說能力測驗:
口說能力測驗分成三部分: 複誦， 朗讀句子與短文， 和回答問題 。
第一部分: 複誦。 總共五題， 由耳機播出 ，每個句子會念兩次， 聽完每道考
題後， 必須將所聽到的句子， 完整地複誦一次，不可增加或是刪減或是改變句
子或是單字， 因為題目沒有印在試題測上， 所以特別留意以下幾項: 包括句
子的連音(underlined)， 重音 (bold)， 語調上揚(red color)或是語調下降(blue color)。
Oral Ability Test:
The Oral Ability Test is divided into three parts: repeat the sentences which you hear
from the CD, speak sentences and short paragraph correctly, and answer the questions
after listening to them twice from the CD.

Part one: Repeat the sentences. The test takers will listen to five sentences twice
from the earphones. After listening, the test takers must repeat these sentences
perfectly. It means that these sentences can’t be added or deleted, and the sentences or
words can’t be changed. Because these sentences are not printed on the test paper,
the test takers must pay more attention to the following important points, for example,
the linking sound of these sentences (underlined words), the stress words (bold words),
the rising intonation (red color words), and the falling intonation (blue color words).

1. I’m not feeling well, so I need to take a rest for a while.

2. Why don’t we go to the beach after school?
3. What’s the forecast for tomorrow? I’m tired of the hot weather.

第二部分: 朗讀句子與短文: 試題卷上因有五個句子以及一篇短文， 應試者有一

分鐘的時間閱讀， 接著在一分鐘內以正常的速度和正確的語調， 讀出試卷上的
句子與短文。
Part Two: speak sentences and short paragraph correctly. There are five sentences and
a short paragraph on the test paper. First of all, the test takers must read the text in one
minute, and then they need to speak these five sentences and a short paragraph in the
normal speed and correct intonations in one minute.

2. Could you call Ted at three thirty?
3. Rose loves eating apples, and Nancy loves bananas.
4. My grandfather has stiff shoulders, so he has trouble sleeping.

短文 (A short paragraph):
Chinese New Year was coming, so I went to the bank last Thursday to exchange
the new money. There was a very long line, but only a few people were working at
the counter, so I had to wait. Although there were a lot of people, they were all
happy to chat to one another. When it was my turn, I told the old lady that I
needed to exchange the new money for the Chinese New Year, but I did not know
what to do. She was so kind and helpful. I felt that I was really lucky.

第三部分:回答問題。 本部分共有七題， 每題會播出兩次， 兩次之間大約有 1-2

秒的間隔，聽完兩次後， 請馬上會答， 每題回答時間為 15 秒 。
Part Three: answer the questions after listening to them twice from the CD. This
part includes seven questions. Each question will be played twice, and there are about
one or two seconds empty after the first time. After listening to each question, please
answer it immediately in fifteen seconds.

Hi, everyone. My name is David. I am from Taichung. In fact, I was born and
grew up here. I love the sunny and warm weather here because the nice weather
makes me feel pleasant. In addition, I like to go shopping at the night markets.
The night markets are so famous that a lot of people from other places visit them on
the weekends. If you come to Taichung, welcome to call me and we can hang out
together.

Writing Ability Test is divided into two parts: one is Sentence Writing, and the other is
Paragraph Writing.
第一部分: 單句寫作。此部份分成三部分：句子改寫，句子合併， 重組 。

第二部分: 段落寫作
關於段落寫作有以下幾個重點必須注意。 何謂段落? 把針對同一個主題有相關
聯句子的結合在一起形成 段落(paragraph) 。一個段落的結構主要包括三個部分:
首先是主題句 (Topic Sentence) 主要是表達這個段落的中心思想(Main Idea)，第
二是支持句 (Supporting Sentences) 主要是用舉例或是其他細節來擴展支持整個
主題句，最後是結論句 (Conclusion) 主要是總結整個段落。

Part Two: Paragraph Writing. There are several important points for this part. What
is paragraph? A paragraph is a collection of sentences that are related to one central
idea. A paragraph has three sections: topic sentence, supporting sentences, and
conclusion. First of all, a topic sentence mainly expresses the main idea or thought
of the paragraph. The second section is the supporting sentences, which support the
topic sentence by using examples, details, and descriptions. The third section is
conclusion, which states the key points of the whole paragraph again.

首先:在寫主題句時需要特別注意 一開始即必須清清楚楚的指出主題。(例句:1
和 2) 另外，在寫主題句時，需要留意所用的關鍵字或關鍵詞， 因為不同的關鍵
字詞會產生不同的段落。(例句:3 和 4 ； 5 和 6 )
First of all, writers must point out the topic of the paragraph clearly when they write
the topic sentence. (For example: sentence 1 and sentence 2 ) In addition, writers
need to pay more attention to the key words or phrases when they write the topic
sentences because these different key words or phrases will form different paragraphs.
(For example: sentence 3 and 4; sentences 5 and 6 ).

第二部分: 段落寫作 (Paragraph Writing )

Part A: 對等連接詞(Coordinating Conjunction)
1. and (而且) / but (但是) / or (或者):
這三個的前面和後面所接的詞彙必須要有相同的詞性 例如:單字，片語，以及子
句。
The words located before and after these three conjunctions are the same sentences
patterns, for example, vocabulary, phrases, sentences.
For example:

[2]David likes watching horrible movies, but Mary like watching romantic movies.
[3]Is Jack reading a comic book or checking the email?

2. so(所以) / for(因為):
這兩個字只能連接兩個不同的子句， 而且必定要有逗號(，)在這兩個字之前。
These two words only connect two independent sentences. In addition, it is necessary
to put a comma (, ) before them.
For example:
[4]The boss is so strict to these employees, so they must work hard as possible as they
could.
[5]Amy really likes the old lady, for she is friendly and kind.

3. Both … and …(兩者都…)

either … or… (不是… 就是…)
neither … nor… (既不是… 也不是)
not only… but also (不僅… 而且…)
這四個連接詞的前面和後面所接的詞彙必須要有相同的詞性 例如:單字，片語，
以及子句。
The words located before and after these four connections are the same sentences
patterns, for example, vocabulary, phrases, sentences.
For example:

Part B 從屬連接詞 (subordinating conjunction)

表示時間: before (在…之前) / after (在…之後) / when (當…時候)/ as (當…時候) /
while (當…時候)/ since (自從…) / until (直到…) / as soon as (一… 就…) /
表示原因: because (因為)/ since (因為) / as (因為)
表示條件: although (雖然)/ though(雖然) / even though(雖然) / as long as (只要) / if
(假如) / in case (假如) / unless (除非)
需要特別注意: 當從屬連接詞放在句子的句首時， 第一個子句後面一定要有逗
號(，)。
Note: it’s necessary to use comma (,) after the first sentence when the subordinating
conjunctions are in the beginning of the whole sentence.
For example:

Because my grandmother makes it a rule to go swimming every week, she is healthy.
