TINDAKAN DIPERLUKAN ‐ KONTAMINASI AIR BERLEBIHAN. Tentukan sumber air dan ambil tindakan yang tepat. Analisis pelumas dengan
tes air di tempat jika memungkinkan. Potensi sumber air meliputi: a. Segel/seal bocor; b. Kondensasi yang dihasilkan dari suhu operasi
yang rendah atau shutdowns berkepanjangan; c. Oil cooler terganggu; d. Paparan langsung ke atmosfer ﴾tangki yang tidak tersegel/seal
dengan benar ﴿. Hilangkan air dari pelumas menggunakan sentrifugal atau unit dehidrasi, atau kuras pelumas dan isi ulang sistem dengan
pelumas baru. Resample sistem setelah langkah ‐ langkah perbaikan telah dilaksanakan. Hubungi perwakilan ExxonMobil Anda untuk
bantuan lebih lanjut jika diperlukan.
TINDAKAN DIPERLUKAN ‐ TAN TINGGI. Total Jumlah Asam ﴾TAN﴿ dari sampel pelumas berada di atas batas Mesin Manfacturer Asli ﴾OEM﴿
untuk kelas ini. Tentukan penyebab peningkatan TAN dan ambil tindakan yang tepat. Jika TAN diangkat untuk pertama kalinya tanpa
adanya riwayat trending peningkatan, maka segera ambil ulang sampel untuk memastikan kondisi ini. Kemungkinan penyebab dari TAN
tinggi meliputi: a. Suhu pelumas yang tinggi; b. Lokal hot spot; c. Masa pakai pelumas yang terlalu diperpanjang; d. Kontaminasi dengan
pelumas yang memiliki TAN lebih tinggi; e. Tingginya tingkat oksidasi dan nitrasi menghasilkan pembentukan asam organik dan anorganik.
