I. ABSTRACT OR RATIONALE OF BRIEF
INTRODUCTION
Architecture, as contrast to building
components abilities, is the art and technique
of designing and building. Architecture is a
practice that fulfills both practical and

expressive needs, and as a result, it serves
both utilitarian and aesthetic goals.
Philippines rich and divergent
history from colonization of eastern and
western countries come to a sum of being the
melting pot of cultures, traditions,
presentation and even architectural styles.
Being said to that, the variety of this
civilizations just like how Philippine
archipelago having nearly 7, 107 islands need
and must be respected and preserved. Giving
greater importance to Architectural heritage,
which was being left and neglected, flaunting
its importance, and the beauty of its process
make it not less in value to showcase.
The architectural heritage of the
Philippines represents the splendid mind of
the Filipinos in building, designing and
planning of structures. Also, this displays the
influences of the colonialist that have passed
in the country. From native, to baroque, up to
modern, the different styles and
representation of the Philippine architecture is
a reminder and inspiration of the country’s
beautiful history.
Today, the Philippine architecture is
a product of natural development that has
been enriched by the absorption of numerous
influences. Both art museums and galleries
are great places to go and appreciate
beautiful artwork. Museum for Filipino
Architecture will represent and promote the
process and timeline of Filipino Architecture
Architecture to present times.
With these, the proponent
considered is the study of cultural tourism in
the Philippines and how architecture may
contribute in protecting and promoting the
beautiful architectural culture of the
Philippines. The relationship between the
history of Filipino architecture and the culture
will be discussed in this project. Additionally,
there are things that this capstone might
provide to promote Filipino architecture.
PROBLEM STATEMENT
There are a lot of Museums
around Metro Manila or National Capital
Region (NCR) and it is prevalent
nowadays, but Museums are very
limited to the provinces and other
regions. Santa Rosa/ Silang, Cavite is
the chosen site location and it has seen
a recent period of fast growth. Even if
the city's infrastructure needs have
increased significantly over the past
year, there is still a demand for a
cultural and recreational structures just
like museum that can accommodate
travelers from around the country on
different levels and bring the cultural
and recreational vibe into provincial
area. This museum will be the sole and
premiere state of the art exhibiting and
promoting the history of Philippine
Architecture.
With regards, this study will identify
the current structure. How might
architecture contribute to greater
cultural and recreational facility. Offers
a unique concept of modern approach.

III. PROJECT GOAL

The proponent’s proposal will help

the city of Silang, Cavite to have adequate
cultural and recreational facility through new
architectural design approach. This offers a
museum that promotes the Philippine
Architecture. It ensures the safety of the
users, and protection of the valuable
resources.
The primary goal of the proponent is
to use appropriate architectural solutions that
will not compromise aesthetics or services
and to provide an environment that reflects
both traditional and modern architecture with
many foreign influences leading Filipino
Architecture.

IV. PROJECT OBJECTIVES

The proposal’s objective is to

promote the history of Philippine Architecture
by creating a facility that will exhibit the value
and relevance of the architecture here in the
Philippines. Through education, it increases
the people’s understanding and recognition
about the Philippine Architecture who visits
the museum. Through architecture, to create

Rosa, Laguna, Philippines. A first-class city,
Santa Rosa is located in the Philippine
province of Laguna. It is sometimes referred
to as Next Wave City and "The Lion City of
the South." The City of Santa Rosa provides
54.14 square kilometers, or 5.415 hectares,
or 3.08 percent of the total land area of the
province of Laguna.

INTRODUCTION
Animals have hearts and minds.
They communicate with each other and tend
to give care and show feelings just like us
humans. They are essential to the ecosystem
and biospheres that sustain human life on
Earth.
Animal protection is not about
shelter nor the place to live in. It is all about
the comfort we show to the animals.
Minimizing or eliminating the harms that
people cause to animals. We, humans must
set an example of respect and compassion for
these animals, which need to be protected. 16
million dogs are thought to live in the
Philippines. According to some estimates,
about 90% of Filipino families possess a pet,
with more than 4 out of every 10 being dog
households. According to actual information
provided by the Philippine Canine Club, Inc.,
there are roughly 11.6 million dog owners in
the nation. The "Homebody Economy"
brought on by the epidemic increased pet
ownership and human-animal relationships
as well as the amount of time people spent
with their pets. In the epidemic year of 2020,
the number of new puppies registered with
PCCI increased by 9.5% to 93,320. The
Philippines continues to be one of the world's
smallest pet care markets while having one of
the top 6 largest populations of dogs
worldwide.
Animal Shelter are essential to our
communities because they work tirelessly to
reconnect lost pets with their owners, provide
shelter to those in need, and find new homes
for animals that are homeless, lost, or that
should not be roaming the streets. It provides
animals a second chance at life and freedom
from past suffering. In contrast to wild animal
shelters and rescue centers, which stand for
the recovery of injured animals until they are
healed and are then brought back and
released into their native habitat after some
assessment, it provides temporary homes for
domesticated animals like dogs, cats, rabbits,
and horses until they are ready to be adopted.
Permanent habitat should be considered if the
particular animal can no longer be released.
Philippine Animal Welfare Society
(PAWS) is a volunteer-based non-
government organization whose goal is to
prevent animal cruelty through education,
animal sheltering and advocacy. The
organization envisions a country where
people appreciate animals, have responsible
pet ownership, and safeguard nature
because they feel that the initial step in
creating a more peaceful society is to broaden
humanity's circle of compassion to include
animals.
Animal cruelty is one aspect of the
broad set of problems connected to animals.
It concerns with the mistreatment, illegal
trade, and smuggling of animals. The
Department of Environment and Natural
Resources (DENR) and Department of
Agriculture (DOA), under the Bureau of
Animal Industry (BAI), have a regulation of all-
natural resources as may be given for by law
to ensure equal distribution of the benefit
received for the welfare and monitor the strict
observance and adherence of RA 8485
(Animal Welfare Act of 1998) and related law,
including but not limited to RA 7160 (Local
Government Code), to accomplish a
satisfying research (Philippine Veterinary
Medicine Act of 2004).
This study is to change people's
perceptions of animal shelters and rescue
facilities. By establishing a design for an
animal shelter's rooms, animals can receive
the necessary care, recuperation, and
rehabilitation. Humanity can use socialization
and education. Animals in shelters can be
reformed through this place.
II. PROBLEM STATEMENT
Nowadays, majority of domesticated
animal shelters and nature reserves only
provide kennels and cages for animals who
are being rescued or given up for
rehabilitation. Although some people have
recovered from illness and stress, the majority
experienced stress and trauma. Because of
the environment in shelters, which is different
from where they were living before, wild
animals do not recover more quickly.
Because domestic animals are not socialized
and trained, they are becoming more fearful
and aggressive, making adoption difficult.
The worst-case possibilities that could have
led to their abnormal behavior.
With regard to animal welfare, this study will
identify the current shelters. How might
architecture contribute to greater animal
rehabilitation, socializing with humans and
their natural surroundings, and recovery from
captivity?

III. PROJECT GOAL
The proponent’s proposal will help
the city of Santa Rosa, Laguna to have
adequate animal rehabilitation facility through
new architectural design approach. This
offers a learning center to educate both pet
owners and non-owners about how to care for
domestic animals, ensure their safety, and
safeguard the habitat of wildlife. Furthermore,
to give domesticated animals training so they
can assist us in addressing our everyday
needs.
The primary goal of the proponent is
to use appropriate architectural solutions to
meet the city's growing demand for domestic
animals while also promoting the survival of
the city's threatened animals.
IV. PROJECT OBJECTIVES
The proposal’s objective is to
promote the health of domestic animals and
some wild animals by creating rehabilitation
facility with a shelter designed for local
terrestrial species. Through education,
increase people's understanding of the
wildlife habitat and the adaptability of stray
animals in the city by creating learning center
to give education about domestic animals,
wildlife and environment. Through
architectural, to create an environment that
incorporate with nature by using new design
approach that improves the health and
wellbeing of building target users, include
natural elements into the spaces.

I. ABSTRACT OR RATIONALE OF BRIEF
INTRODUCTION
An establishment that offers short-
term lodging is known as a hotel. Rooms with
modern amenities, such as suite, bathrooms
and climate control, have mostly replaced the
modest accommodations of the past, which
merely included a room with a bed and
separate toilets, a cabinet, a small table, and
a washstand. A telephone, an alarm clock, a

television, a safe, a mini-bar with snack foods
and drinks, and amenities for preparing tea
and coffee are other common amenities found
in hotel rooms. Bathrobes and slippers, a
pillow menu, double sink vanities, and Jacuzzi
bathtubs are examples of luxurious
amenities. Additional guest amenities like a
swimming pool, fitness center, business
center, childcare, conference facilities, and
social event services may be offered by larger
hotels.
The hotel industry is essential to the
growth of the Philippine tourism industry,
which has experienced a continually rising
demand for rooms from both domestic and
international visitors who travel for both
business and pleasure.
Filipinos are well known for their
hospitality. Visitor arrivals have increased
over the past few years thanks to a
comprehensive infrastructural program and
an aggressive marketing effort. Stated in the
Philippine Daily Inquirer that there were 5.361
million foreign visitors that arrived in the
Philippines in 2015, 5.967 million in 2016,
6.621 million in 2017, and 7.128 million in
2018.The percentage of direct gross value
added to gross domestic product (TDGVA),
which measures the contribution of tourism to
the economy, has been rising during recent
years. TDGVA was predicted to be 10.1% in
2015, 10.7% in 2016, 12.2% in 2017, and
12.7 percent in 2018. As of November 2019,
there were 7.484 million tourist arrivals,
exceeding the number for the entire year of
2018. The most recent data, however,
showed continued rise.
With these, the proponent
considered studying hotel industry in the
Philippines and how architecture may
contribute in growth and development of the
hotel industry in the Philippines. Additionally,
there are things that this capstone might
provide to promote Hotel Industry to the locals
and foreign visitors of the country.
