The key focus of this position is to provide infrastructure planning to develop a mature
infrastructure pipeline in accordance with Council’s Road Investment, Active
Aim of Position:
Transport and Stormwater Management strategies. The position will also provide a
supporting role in program management of the capital works delivery.

Key Responsibilities
1. Undertake infrastructure planning activities (e.g., safety audits, hydraulic analysis, sidra analysis)
associated with the delivery of road, active transport, and stormwater infrastructure
2. Work as part of a team to develop a 10-year capital investment plan for transport and stormwater
infrastructure including renewals, new and upgrades and trunk infrastructure (LGIP).
3. Provide technical engineering support to internal stakeholders (e.g., design, civil works, development
assessment and road corridor management)
4. Implement actions identified in Council's Road Investment Strategy, Active Transport Strategy and
Stormwater Management Strategy
5. Project manage infrastructure planning studies/investigations to support development of the capital
investment plan.
6. Implement, maintain, and improve the decision support systems for each infrastructure strategy of
Council (i.e., Road Investment Strategy, Stormwater Management Strategy and Active Transport
Strategy).
7. Application of the Queensland Treasury Project Decision Framework including Concept approvals,
Options Analysis and Business Case development.

8. Undertake asset owner review and impact assessment of external development applications as they
relate to transport and drainage networks to support development assessment.
9. Assist in Program Management of the one-to-three-year capital investment plan delivery.
10. Monitor and evaluate the performance outcomes of the capital works program to ensure community
value is realised.
11. Support the Infrastructure Planning Manager in managing risk, facilitating effective network
management, community engagement and implementing corporate system improvements.
12. Provide technically sound and honest engineering advice to Council staff, Councillors, external parties,
and organisations as required.
13. It is expected that the incumbent undertakes other reasonable duties and tasks requested by
Management within the incumbent’s capabilities, including additional duties as required during periods
of absence of other staff.
