Traffic management:

 Creating a traffic management plan helps outline the way

activities on the road will be implemented so they ensure
that both workers and road takers are safe from potential
risks and danger.
 A traffic management plan does not only cover how
workers can be safe when any project is being completed,
but it also contains information on the workaround
prepared for pedestrians and vehicles user.
 It must contain the specifics of the project is completed,
such as the location, time shifts, workers involved, the
work processes, contact details, as well as traffic
management design plans.
 The site team with safety officers shall coordinate logistics
and materials movements through site following directions
and road sign displayed on site.
 Make a protection barrier near the excavation area to
protect the vehicle as well as working men on the site.
 The required diversion routes shall be marked on drawings
including the required traffic signs.
 The required traffic sign shall be followed by vehicles until
the work completed.
 All incoming and outgoing vehicles will be coordinated
with a spotter at the site entrance. The spotter is to make
sure the entrance is cleared to allow in/out.
 Traffic management plan should also cover some of the
major points i.e. Design Plan, Implementation Plan,
Maintenance Plan
 Design plan – This plan shows that how the traffic would
look like during the operation. If we have design plan then
this would help and ensure the safety movements of the
vehicles alongside the road work equipment. It is also
important to determine the types of vehicles that usually
pass through so that proper measurement and distance,
such as the width and turning point can be considered
between the work zone and the main road.
 Implementation – It shows that when the workers starts
doing construction work until when they also leave. During
the implementation, persons-in charge in performing high-
risk tasks should have and secure the right licenses,
registrations, and permits before operating. Compliance
documents such as site, legislative, organization, health
and safety, and emergency documentation should also be
prepared to ensure that the work zone meets all of these
requirements.
 Maintenance – A maintenance of traffic plan is set of

specific plan sheets, references to standard indexes or

Plan notes describing how traffic will be controlled during
each construction phase.
