Portafolio

Kevin Rodríguez Sánchez

Note: Teacher, all month I had a problem with the virtual book. Despite having
downloaded the program, the book never shows up on my computer. For this
reason, I wrote two small writings taking into account the topics covered in class. I
hope you can consider it as part of the Portfolio.

Writing 1
My sedentary life and my dreams of being an airplane pilot
Rarely do I sports. My life is quite sedentary and with the pandemic, even worse.
Almost never do I exercise. The only exercise I do every day is having to go up to
the sixth floor of my apartment. Few times I have gone out to play soccer with my
colleagues from the university. Sometimes I have tried to change these bad habits
but every time I have tried I have failed. In any case, I want to leave behind the bad
habits of a sedentary life.
I want to have more physical qualities because next year I want to apply to the
Peruvian aviation school. I will be submitting my application when I feel better
about myself and my body. That is my goal for 2023, but its realization depends
only if I change my sedentary routine. For this reason I think it will be necessary to
hire the services of a personal trainer because on my own I cannot be disciplined.
Although I can be disciplined for other things like, for example, music, or theater, I
have never been disciplined with physical training.
I have many friends who take great care of their diet while I eat junk food every
day. I really hate vegetables. But since I decided to be an airline pilot, I have been
finding out what the diet that airline pilots eat is, and little by little I am incorporating
these foods into my diet. Slowly! In January I will start an aviation course for
beginners because it is important to know some essential aviation topics. As soon
as I leave behind my sedentary life I will be ready to be a pilot. That is my dream.

Writing 2
For me, theater is pure passion
Wherever there is a theater I can be happy. Since I was a child I have participated
in different casts and plays. I love theater because acting as a character I can be
myself. I would have studied acting if only my parents had allowed me to. But
although not having followed my dream of being a professional actor, I continue to
lead workshops with many teachers. Only if I keep in constant acting training can I
become like a professional actor or even better. While I don't lose that spirit of
wanting to improve my acting technique every day, I won't be a mediocre actor.
Since coming to this city, I have always tried to know all the theaters that exist. I'm
from Barranca, and my hometown doesn't do much theater. In fact, I think there
are no theater groups. On the other hand, in Lima there are a lot. After meeting
several theater groups in Lima, I decided to create my own theater group. I feel
freer creating my own plays instead of depending on other companies and the type
of play they choose.
Therefore, it could be said that I am an "independent artist". I'm not sure whether
this is what I wanted or not, but being an "independent artist" certainly has its
perks. For example, you can choose your rehearsal times, the play you want to put
on, the people you want to work with, the theaters where you want to act and the
message you want to convey. How satisfying it is to work for the love of art. I think
theater is so commercialized today that it needs to be filled with more passion. As
a teacher once told me: "Going to the theater is like going on a romantic date." I
replied: "Why? And she said that theater always requires the same passion and
eroticism that couples have when they first meet. That is theater for me. Passion!
