About Me

Who Am I …

I am April Joy Zoilo De Lima, born on April 19, 1999 and currently residing at San
Agustin, Iriga City.

“Go with the flow”, in my 22 years of living I kept asking myself what should I do to
make my life meaningful, yet I didn’t even do something. After graduating senior high school,
because of lack in financial support, I applied for work as a service crew and it went on for
almost 3 years, that sacrifice made us move forward those times. At some point, maybe that
side of me, that go with the flow kind of person brought me to where I am right now. During
elementary days, I used to wish for someone who’s willing to help me pursue my dreams,
and after so many years it came, and there! Here I am right now learning how to become a
nurse.

Mission

My Personal Mission

My personal mission is to finish this 4 years course, I also aim to pass the board
examination for nurses. At least I’m going to have the title RN before my name, and help my
father build a more comfortable house for him to live.

My Professional Mission

Assuming that I am a registered nurse, after working here for 2 to 3 years I plan to
work abroad, and maybe that way, I’ll be able to support my brother financially for his
schooling. If God’s will, I’ll have enough money to support myself for schooling also then I’ll
enroll for another year at graduate school. Maybe after that I’ll want to be a clinical instructor
too, who knows.

Date/Time Activity Reflection Remarks

08/23/21 1 In today’s discussion, surely the path I

oath to take will not be as smooth as my
skin. Kidding aside, despite the theories
our professor had shown us, I still have
the urge of wanting to learn about those
even if it caused me lots of brows to
burn. Just having a peek of the course’s
content made me feel like nursing is hard
but fun.

09/06/21 2 Today, I learned how profession differs

from occupation. How far would it take
for a nursing student to be able to cope
with the field he/she ought to take, what
ethics and characteristics a nurse should
have to finally be called a nurse. The
difficult process that we aspiring nurses
should take in order to be called
professional. As a student, and being new
to this field, this discussion guided and
taught me to research more about
nursing process. Being a student nurse, it
will be my duty to fill the emptiness my
lecture note is craving for, for my starving
box of knowledge, and of course for my
future patients/clients. What really caught
my attention a while ago id the “altruistic
service to the society” which is a
characteristic of a profession. In my
everyday life living on earth, I’ve been
practicing being selfless in many terms,
and one thing’s for sure, if you act
unselfishly, more good things will fire
back at you. In order to apply all these
learning in my everyday life, I’ll be just
selfless. Learning for me is being selfless,
because this profession is not just for me
but for the people who awaits and believe
in me.

09/13/21 3 Another day of digesting nurse’s nature. I

have learned that nursing isn’t just about
medicine or intensive care units. Nursing
is a science that studies cause and effect,
a process, and a body of tested
knowledge. Nursing is like EVERYTHING
you may know. As a student nurse, this
will definitely be useful for me especially
in the future. Whereas during my duties

as a nurse, I will be able to showcase and

apply learnings I’ve got form here.
Actually, it isn’t just useful for the future
that awaits me, like in my everyday life’s
phenomena, codes of ethics as a nurse
can be noticed, and because I have
defined knowledge-base I can tell
whether a thing is wrong or right, and of
course I’m no perfect person. There are
still some things that need to be
researched or talk about. Living life is just
a matter of agreeing from what’s right
and wrong, it’s just up to you which one
to take.
