 Background of the Study

In Wuhan City, Hubei Province of China, the first identified outbreak of
respiratory illness case prominently known as Coronavirus disease 2019
(Covid-19) have discovered. It overspreaded drastically globally with that as
the most effective response to such, lockdowns are implemented and in
truth, it dramatically changed people's lifestyle in much of the world. This
pandemic has affected thousands of people who are either sick or being
killed due to the spread of this disease.

 Withal the residents in Purok 7 Coloran Paracale just like anybody else,
impact of Covid-19 proliferation crippled their life cycle in an extremely
sudden and immediate manner that they did not have given enough time
to prepare themselves for the changes and challenges that this
circumstance will brought. With that the local department in Paracale was
trying to guide the people in P-7 Coloran by following the protocols in
COVID 19 to ensure the safety and health of every residents to the said area.

The illustration vividly elucidate the relationship between the two variables
in this research videlicet the independent variable which is identified as the
pandemic and dependent variable or the lives of the residents in the given
scope of this study. In corollary lockdown which is the moderator variable is
also included as it is one of the alter effects than the pandemic ( IV) has on
the lives of the residents (DV) in P-7 Coloran Paracale Camarines Norte, the
chosen respondents for this study. Therefore it can be inferred that the two
aforementioned variables is creating a cause and effect relationship while
the moderator variable served as the one that affects the strength or
direction of the relationship that the two major highlighted factors had.

 Statement of the Problem

General Problem
• Determine the effects of Covid-19 pandemic to the residents of P-7
Paracale, Camarines Norte

Specific Problem
1. Identify the current status of pandemic proliferation in the area
2. Identify the relationship of pandemic proliferation to the lives of the
residents in the area
3. Identify who is more likely to be affected with the impact of pandemic
between parents and students
 Hypothesis

Alternative hypothesis
• The continuous proliferation of pandemic creates positive and negative
impacts to the life of the residents in P-7 Coloran Paracale Camarines
Norte.

Null hypothesis
• The pandemic proliferation does not have any impact to the people living
in P-7 Coloran Paracale Camarines Norte.

 Significance of the Study

• The findings are essential to the residents not only in the area of P-7
Coloran but also to other places who have been through relative
experiences after the pandemic and its impacts have pervaded because it
could allocate useful informations for further research

• Can also provide suggestions and commendable recommendations on

how will the victims of pandemic both adults and children can recover
from negative impacts that they have been through amidst the continuous
circulation of pandemic proliferation in that way, they can create positive
coping mechanisms as a best response in order to overcome this problem
for themselves
 Significance of the Study

• Results of this study could also provide useful information and can add
value to the existing knowledge on the relationship between the Covid-19
and its impacts to the life of the residents where this study is meant to be
conducted.

 Scope and Delimitation of the Study

• This study will be conducted in P-7 Coloran, Paracale Camarines Norte

which is the most accessible and reachable area to get in touch with and is
the nearest spot where the researchers are residing that is why, the
aforementioned location has been chosen and thus the gathering of data
will be more easy and convenient.

• The researchers will only choose 60 respondents out of 6,294 estimated

population in general from the barangay of Tugos where this Purok is
affiliated, according to recent record of PhilAtlas.

 Scope and Delimitation of the Study

• Out of 60 individuals, 30 of them are parents while the other 30 are

students and it is the maximum number of respondents in this research
because 60 individuals are enough to be able to represent as a whole
population to P-7 Coloran in order to determine their current state of living
and the impacts they have experienced after the Covid-19 pandemic
overspreaded.

 Definition of Terms
For a better understanding of this study the following terms are
defined in the context of this research.
• Acute respiratory syndrome- a serious lung condition that causes
low blood oxygen
• Covid-19- an illness caused by a novel coronavirus called severe
acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2; formerly
called 2019-nCoV).
• Lockdown- a security measure taken during an emergency to
prevent people from leaving or entering a building or other location
P-7 Coloran. One of the puroks in the municipality of Paracale where
the study is conducted.
 Definition of Terms

• Pandemic- a disease outbreak that spreads across countries or

continents
• Proliferation- a rapid multiplication of parts or the increase in the
number of something specifically the Covid-19.
Residents. People residing in a particular area
• Wuhan City- a capital and major industrial and commercial city of
Hubei sheng (province), China where the first identified outbreak of
respiratory illness case discovered.
