Chapter I
Rationale
The barangay serves as the primary planning and
implementing unit for government basic services, programs,
activities, and projects. However, throughout the process of
implementation, there were shortcomings and challenges that
hindered its success, thus fettering the plans that were meant
to be carried out, where after formulating strategies by which
those weaknesses can be overcome and make meaningful
strides toward achieving a sustainable local government unit.
Objectives of the Plan

This development plan aims to build 1.5-kilometer-


long roads in a year. The 1.5-kilometer-long road
project will open doors and opportunities for the
residents of Natid-asan, one of the puroks in
Barangay Casisang.
Scope of the Plan

The plan's scope and coverage are limited to Casisang


for a minimum of one year. The plan is divided into
sections.
Methodology
This development plan opted the pro-active as an
approach as it is intended to provide a convenient
future for the residents of Natid-Asan, Casisang,
Malaybalay City, and Bukidnon.

Barangay Casisang has a total land area of 3,415
hectares It is 2.5 kilometers away from the center of
the city. It is bounded in the north by Barangay 11
and Barangay 7 in the south by Barangay San Jose,
in the east by Barangay Can-ayan, and in the west
by the Barangay Imbayao.

Land Cover, Land Classification and Uses
Barangay Casisang has a total land area of 2,990.20
hectares. Based on the existing land use by 2016,
43,52% are intended for Agri- Industrial (Plantation
Crops) usage, 25.67% for Agricultural Lands
(Production) usage, 15.40% for Forest Lands
(Production) usage and only 7.66% for residential
(General) usage.
Forests
The proposed protection forest of the barangay is
located in the riverbank allowances which are along
Sawaga River and Luksohon Spring. The Luksohon
spring is the source of drinking water of the residents
in Purok 1 and Purok 9.
Economic Profile
Public Utilities
The barangay has an Airport Village Bayanihan Mini
Markets, and it is located at Purok 2 where most of
the residents prefer to buy their basic consumption
instead of going to the city proper.
Financial Institutions
There is one lending institution identified in the
barangay. Their services include a farm and
micro/macro loan financing.

Tourism
The President Manuel A. Roxas Shrine is considered
one of the tourist spot destinations of the city and it is
found in the vicinity of the barangay. Other than
that, the barangay also identified tourist destinations
and these are along Luksohon Spring, Natid-asan
Falls, Aniningpan Ridge, and K&A Natural Spring
Resort.
Recreational

Each purok in the barangay has its own basketball


court. Schools also, allocate areas for recreational fun
for students where they can spend their sports and
other activities.
Festivals and Festivities

Barangay Casisang celebrates Araw every year on


August 17.
