Dr. Ajay Ranka has had a long and illustrious career as a pioneer and innovator in the field of
nanotechnology based solutions. His focus has always been the development of sustainable
technologies for conservation and extension of the life of limited resources. A Ph.D in Polymer Science
and Engineering, USA; Dr.Ranka founded Zydex Industries in 1997 as a textile chemicals company.
With a growing workforce of 800+ employees, Zydex has today grown into a multi-division group of
companies with interests in several verticals such as Roads, Agriculture, Waterproofing & Paints and a
global footprint across more than 40 countries. Having developed 200+ revolutionary and world-class
products and solutions across divisions, Zydex continues to innovate with its philosophy of
conservation and sustainability.

Zydex has received various awards and accolades from prestigious institutions such as the IRF
(International Roads Federation), CII (Confederation of Indian Industry), FGI (Federation of Gujarat
Industries), Marico and Inc. India for its innovations and outstanding accomplishments in various
fields. Moreover, Dr. Ranka serves as a board member for the IRF (International Road Federation) and
has previously served as a member of the Technology Development Board (Govt. of India).

Dr. Ranka is also the founder-director of 'Shashvat Vikas Prabodhan Parishad', a NGO which is
spearheading the village transformation in six tribal districts of Gujarat. The key development of
chemical-free farming, improving the ability to learn among the tribal students and animal
husbandry and it is impact on Vedic kheti is the key program which is followed by this organization. He
is also the founder and movement for 'Nayi Soch' that imparts training to teachers on ways to improve
the ability to learn among students across all levels. There are specific programs that have been
pursued and developed and more than 1,000 teachers have been trained so far.

Another feather in his cap towards sustainable agriculture, is the development of the entire protocol
under the ‘Prakalp Sanjivani’ program that allows the farmers to transit to chemical-free farming in
one crop cycle, with improved yield and better quality at a reduced cost, by combining Vedic kheti and
the latest biotechnology principles.

He was also the chairman for the selection of the Vice Chancellor for Maharaja Sayajirao University,
Vadodara, in the recent past.

The sum total of Dr.Ranka's achievements is that today Zydex is at the forefront of numerous world-

NANOTECHNOLOGY SOLUTIONS FROM ZYDEX

Seepage Proofing:
Penetrative and reactive waterproofing technology which is permanent and easy to apply for both horizontal
and vertical surfaces. The cement and concrete structures are rendered waterproof up to 1 mm deep, making
the treatment exceptionally durable to weathering.

Leakage Proofing:
Elastic membrane with 200 – 250% elongation for exceptional crack bridging performance with excellent
weather resistance. Acrylic sealant with high % solids (88%), having exceptional elasticity and minimum
shrinkage for crack filling.

Cold Joint Solution:

Ultimate water-based adhesive with 34 KN strength equivalent to M-25 concrete, while maintaining elasticity.
Being water-based, it is easy to spray or brush apply.

BONDING AGENT

Tile & Stone Bonding:

Water-based flexible adhesive stronger than epoxy. Grades available to install heavy granites, large & small
tiles with very high bond strength.

ZycoSil+ is a reactive organosilane based
waterproofing agent that seals up to nano-pore level.
It has an ability to penetrate up to 2 mm deep inside
the substrate and becomes a permanent integral
part of the structure. It reacts and converts the
hydrophilic chemical groups of the substrate into
hyrdrophobic groups. ZycoSil+ is water dilutable,
safe, sprayable and easy to apply. ZycoSil+ is non-
leachable, UV resistant, breathable and does not
present peel-off issues unlike conventional polymer
coatings.

Zycosil Max is a new generation reactive
organosilane based water proofing agent that seals
nanopores & nano - cracks. It is concentrated, highly
penetrative & a strong water-repellent. It has ability
to penetrate up to 4 mm deep inside the substrate &
become an integral part of the structure. Hence, a
membrane coat is not mandatory. Zycosil Max is
water dilutable, safe and easy to apply by roller &
brush. It is non - leachable, UV - resistant, breathable
& does not present peel-off issues like conventional
polymer coatings.

ZycoPrime is an acrylic co-polymer emulsion
supplied as a ready to use bonding agent with
superior wet adhesion and universal compatibility. It
is also a versatile latex that can be used as a cement
modifier for spalled concrete slabs, overhangs,
beams, columns and floors. It is also used as a
bonding primer and porosity filler with ZycoSil+
during waterproofing applications.

ZycoBond Max is a nano acrylic co-polymer (70-90
nm primary particle size) for improved water
resistance for concrete and cement plaster surfaces.
ZycoBond Max when used in combination with
ZycoSil Max seals and waterproofs siliceous
construction materials.
It provides excellent wetting and bonding to the
water repellent surfaces and can achieve up to
17 N/mm2 bond strength. It provides a flexible,
reactive and water resistant polymer film for a longer
life.

LEAKAGE PROOFING

Elastobar is a high performance elastomeric membrane for crack bridging. It features curing
through crosslinking and is highly UV durable. It features the ability to elongate up to 250 %. It
can be used on a variety of substrates as a mortar mix with sand and cement.

ElastoMax is a high performance elastomeric roof coating designed to be used along with
Zycosil Max. It is highly UV durable and has a service life of up to 10 years. It features the ability
to bridge cracks up to 1.5 mm. In combination with Zycosil Max, ElastoMax provides a
waterproofing system that is a combination of a penetrative barrier with a seamless topcoat
resulting in superior performance.

BONDING AGENT

Cold Bond is an acrylic based high performance bonding agent that is reactive and flexible
for use in concrete/concrete and concrete/plaster joints. It exhibits a pull off adhesion
strength equal to 17 N/mm2 and is highly water resistant ensuring a permanent joint between
structures.

NEXT GENERATION

Zycrete 2X is a next generation liquid admixture used for cement-based applications,

concrete and mortar structures. It reduces permeability of concrete/mortar thus imparting
prolonged waterproofing and durability. Zycrete 2X can be used with all types of
cement/sand and is ideal for critical applications like roof slabs and screeds, basements,
external plastering, bathroom floors, water tanks, sumps, drains, etc.

TILE & STONE BONDING

ZycoFix is an acrylic based high performance bonding agent

that is reactive and flexible for use in tile fixing to concrete and

strong and permanent joint between the tile and the
underlying substrate. Tiles and stones up to 4 m2 can be fixed.

Premium Matt
Premium Matt is a premium emulsion paint with a rich matt finish. It’s inherent deep matt effect and carefully
selected pigments provide unsurpassed color depth and brilliancy even in the most difficult lighting
conditions. Premium Matt’s ability to hide surface defects leads to an even and consistent finish even at sharp
angles. The paint is extremely resistant to burnishing and mechanical abrasion making it suitable for even the
most demanding high traffic interior spaces. Being highly breathable, it is extremely resistant to peel-off and
blistering. Designed for excellent dirt release, it is easily washable and highly scrub resistant. Available in a
wide range of colours.

Stonix
Stonix is an ultra-durable mineral paint with a binder system comprising potassium silicate for exterior
application. Made using only lightfast inorganic pigments, it offers a service life of 15+ years without fading or
peeling when applied on mineral surfaces. It’s purely mineral character offers extreme dirt pickup resistance
and it’s inherent alkalinity inhibits algae and fungal growth. Stonix has an ultra-matt appearance and
enhances light reflectivity and effectively hides surface defects. It’s inherent crystallinity provides
unsurpassed color depth. Available in 230+ long lasting shades.
