any two numbers and compare them starting from left to right.
Find out which one is greater or less , then put them in correct
order. Then pick another number and compare it with the one of
the first two numbers you picked. Then , put them in order
accordingly. Do the same with the other numbers.

OBJECTIVE : Perform addition, subtraction, multiplication and division of
whole number.

CONCEPT: To add whole numbers, we simply add their value according to

the given place value. It can be with or without regrouping.

EXAMPLE: Add 352 + 179

We can break this apart:
Add the hundreds: 300+100 = 400
Add the tens: 50 + 70 = 120
Add the ones: 2 + 9 = 11
Add the resulting pieces = 531

EXAMPLE: The idea that 2 + 3 is the same as 3 + 2 is called the commutative

property for addition.
Example: Add 17 + 15 + 23
We can rearrange the order to be 17 + 23 + 15
Since 7+3 = 10, this makes things a bit easier
17 + 23 + 15 = 40 + 15 = 55
