Dear Students:
This is your G-HELP for the week. Kindly pay attention to every detail in it so you
will be properly guided in your home study. Your G-HELP will make sure that your
learning journey this Academic Year, 2020-2021, will be on the right track. God be with
you.
I. Concepts:
Content Standard: The learner demonstrates understanding of whole
numbers up to 10 000, ordinal numbers up to 100th, and money up to
PhP1000.
Performance Standard: The learner is able to recognize, represent,
compare, and order whole numbers up to 10 000, and money up to
PhP1000 in various forms and contexts.
Topics:
Rounding Off Numbers up to 10 000
Comaparing Numbers up to 10 000
Ordering Numbers up to 10 000
II. Objectives
The learner should be able to:
round numbers to the nearest ten, hundred and thousand.
compare using relation symbols and orders in increasing or
decreasing order 4- to 5-digit numbers up to 10 000.read and
write numbers up to 10 000 in symbols and in words.
What is "Rounding"?
Rounding means making a number simpler but keeping its value close
to what it was.
Example: 53 rounded to the nearest ten is 50, because 53 is closer to 50
than to 60. But 56 goes up to 60.

Comparing Numbers
Checking which number is bigger or smaller is called comparing. We
use comparison symbols (>, < and =) to compare numbers. Here's what each
comparison symbol means:
c. If the digits are equal, move one place value to the right 👉, and repeat
Step 2.
d. For greater than and less than symbols, the wide open mouth of the
symbol always faces the larger number.
Example:
8, 643 > 5, 099
16, 276 < 33, 700
75 988 = 75 988
Ordering Numbers
Arranging a set of numbers in increasing or decreasing order is called
ordering or sorting. To order numbers means to put them in order from least to
greatest or from greatest to least. Ascending order means from least to
greatest, and descending order means from greatest to least. To place
numbers in order, we need to compare them to one another.
Example:
Arrange 987, 546, 2 344, 1 955 to ascending order
Answer: 546, 987, 1 955, 2 344
Activity 2: Watch the following video clips from MATHdali about rounding off,
comparing and ordering numbers. Using a sheet of yellow paper, write what you
have learned from the video clips.

b. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U9-YmSOJjSs
Activity 5: From Activity 4, choose one item for each test. Record a video of
yourself explaining your answer in the items you chose. Send your video through
my messenger.
