1. Compare and contrast modern science and philosophy of science.

Modern science is a method of investigating an occurrence or a particular feature of

creation and doing a thorough investigation of the subject at hand so that it may be predictably
categorized and, if it is a process, can be mathematically modeled. Modern science is significant
because it makes it easier to learn, comprehend, combine, revise, and repeat the process in
order to understand the world around us. Meanwhile, the use and value of science, together
with all of its assumptions, methods, foundations, and implications, are all topics covered by
science philosophy. This field occasionally crosses over into metaphysics, ontology, and
epistemology when it considers whether the findings of science can be used to examine truth.
Many significant questions concerning a discipline are philosophical in character, such as the
nature of its concepts and how it relates to other disciplines. For instance, the understanding of
the natural and social sciences that results from scientific effort itself requires the addition of
philosophy of science.

2. What is scientific method? Enumerate the steps in the scientific method.

Through testing and experimentation, the scientific method establishes facts in an
unbiased manner. Making an observation, formulating a hypothesis, making a prediction,
carrying out an experiment, and then evaluating the findings are the fundamental steps. The
scientific method's principles can be used in various contexts, including business, technology,
and scientific study.

Steps in scientific method:

1. Making an observation or asking a question

2. Gather all the background information
3. Creating a hypothesis
4. Creating a prediction and perform a test
5. Analyzing the result and draw a conclusion
6. Sharing the conclusion

3. What are the limitation of science?

Science has only gained incomplete and ad hoc information. Despite the fact that
science advances and amasses knowledge, the more we know, the more we neglect.
We need to develop the ability to identify the boundaries of our actual ability to acquire
trustworthy knowledge. The line separating conjecture from objectively established truth
in science is hazy. Though they fall outside the realm of science, moral evaluations,
aesthetic preferences, decisions regarding the use of science, and conclusions
regarding the supernatural are not irrelevant. In actuality, areas like ethics, aesthetics,
and religion have a profound impact on how human cultures interact with science. These
areas are not unscholarly either. In fact, philosophers, historians, and other academics
actively research subjects like aesthetics, morality, and theology. However, most of the
time, science cannot provide answers to questions that occur inside these fields, but it
can provide them with relevant information.

4. What do you think is the role of science and technology in our society today?
The greatest communal effort is science. It helps us live longer and healthier lives, keeps
track of our health, provides medicine to treat diseases, eases aches and pains, aids in the
provision of water for our basic needs, including our food, gives us energy, and makes life more
enjoyable through sports, music, entertainment, and cutting-edge communication technology.
Not to mention, it feeds our spirit. The research underlying pressing global issues including
freshwater security, biodiversity loss, climate change, and ocean health must be understood by
national governments. They have made life much easier and more durable through the invention
of medications and the study of ailments, science and technology are crucial to the development
of a nation. By fostering economic development and changing societies, they have also
contributed to a tremendous increase in wealth and an improvement in many people's quality of
life. Additionally, they have added to fresh knowledge that might serve as a direct supply of
concepts for the creation of novel technical possibilities. It is now simpler for people to
communicate with others throughout the world because of science and technology. They also
contributed to the growth of the agricultural, educational, and manufacturing sectors by lowering
production costs, which in turn helped businesses expand. Science and technology have
produced the society and living standards that we know today. Because they have been so
successful in making our lives simpler, we have had to develop new businesses for
health/wellness and beneficial exercise because most of our daily activities no longer need
strenuous physical labor.
