1. Formula present tense

Affirmative

We use affirmative form to make positive sentence. The formula is:

S + Verb (1) / Verb dasar / to be (is, am, are) + O (I, You,

We, They)
Subject + verb 1 (+ s/es) + object (He, She, It)
Example:

 I go to school
 She reads Harry Potter book everyday.
 They watch new movies every sunday.
 She goes to the school by bus.

Negative

We use negative form to make negative sentence.

Don't or doesn't use before the verb. The formula is:

S + Don’t / Doesn’t + Verb (1) + O

(don’t = i, you, we, they)

(doesn’t = she, he it)

if the sentence does not have a verb, the sentence uses to be. The formula is

S + (is, am, are) + not + O

(is = she, he, it)

(am= i)

(are= you, we they)

for the subject she, he it. after the word don't or doesn't, the verb is not added s / es.

Example:

 Susi Pudjiastuti is not the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries.

 She doesn’t read Harry Potter book everyday.
 They don’t watch new movies every sunday.

Interogative

We use interogative form to make question. The formula is:

Do / Does + S + Verb 1 + O

(do = i, you, we, they)

(does = she, he, it)

if the sentence has no verb, it does not use "do or does."

 Does she read Harry potter book ?

 Do they watch new movie everyday ?
 Are you new staff of Wall Street English ?
