1.What do you think had been the most influential among the family and relatives of Rizal? Justify
your answer.

-for me, his mother Teodora Alonso. Teodora Alonso Realonda y Quintos is known as a wealthy woman
in the Spanish colonial Philippines. She was the beloved mother of the Philippines' national hero, Jose
Rizal. She became the most influential family member of Jose Rizal because of her
disciplinary, compassion, and hardworking perspective. Jose Rizal got his talents from his mother, who
was the one who taught many things to Rizal. She was an ideal woman that everybody wanted to be
because of her good character, refined culture, and fortitude. She was known as the biggest influencer
in her son’s life. She became his first teacher who taught him the importance of morals, expressing
their own feelings, and especially gratitude, as well as perseverance, to achieve their goals in life. Even
though we all know Teodora Alonso is a loving mother to her son, that doesn’t change the fact that she
is also strict when it comes to disciplining her children, wherein it is a part of her teachings to support
and see how her children apply it to their lives by educating them in some methods that could help Jose
Rizal and his siblings to pursue life.

2. Why do you think Rizal felt that the moths tale could serve as an allegory of his own destiny?

-I think Rizal feels quite sad because he compared it to his life wherein there are really upside down on
our lives, we suffer from unexpected situation. Like in the story tells us, the mother moth warning her
child not to go to the light but the young moth temptate to go nearer enough to the flame and die at the
moment. It was, however, a different situation. He wasn't like the moth that didn't listen to his mother.
He preferred to link himself with the light-loving moth. Like the moth, he desired to stretch out and
touch the light. The light that he likened to knowledge. Despite his mother's warnings about the
possibility of him dying, he was drawn to the light. He was on a quest for knowledge. He desired to be
educated. It is like a lesson for him that whatever his mother teaching or say to him he must obey
because like in the phrase that “mothers know the best” it is like a enlighten for us individuals.

3.How was value for good education shown in the life of Rizal?

-There is so much learning that Jose Rizal provides for us. The high level of education standards that
Rizal has experienced is like knowledge for us, because education really affects the whole life of a
person. By this, we can get more intellect as well as finding out some new things that we didn’t discover
yet. The massive impact of education really tells us that it is a must to educate a person because it really
helps not just be practical but also be realistic. They are more than just cave people. Just let your mind
expand on things, don’t hide them, show them. Rizal claimed that only through education could the
country be saved from domination. It is like his phrase, “Kabataan ang pag asa ng bayan”. Rizal spent
much of his time on self-improvement via self-education. Not only was he busy academically, but he also
tried other things like sculpture, painting, and many more. Education, according to Rizal, is the
instrument of social advancement. He considers the right to education to be one of the most essential
human rights.

4.Discuss Rizal’s relationship with his parents and siblings.

-Rizal is very close to his siblings and parents, especially to his mother. Rizal has a normal relationship
with his siblings. They bond together, they help each other when they have problems, especially during
that time when his mother was imprisoned by the Spaniards. His siblings and parents are very
supportive when it comes to his studies. His brother would help him when he was studying in Manila or
even abroad, and so would his parents. Rizal is very busy when it comes to studying. Sometimes he can’t
go out and have fun with his siblings. But even though Rizal is busy, his siblings never forget to visit him
wherever he is. His parents always wondered about him every time he was in Manila or abroad, and that
is why they told his older brother to visit him and give him money or food. His parents are not that rich
compared to his classmates’ parents, but the love and support that his parents and siblings gave to him
is genuine and there’s no money that can buy it.
5. Cite virtues were exemplified in the life of Rizal base on his relationship with his family, his
childhood and early education.

-Rizal’s life has more events, but a mere fact is that he didn’t let his perspective change what he got. But
instead, he continues what he is doing by living these virtues in him, such as being honest, love, faith in
God, perseverance, selflessness, and zeal. These are the virtues that keep him who he is. Adding to this,
Rizal’s bravery in defending his homeland is a virtue that is still important today. Our leaders should
emulate his moral courage in doing just what is beneficial for his people. Rizal possessed the critical
quality of responsive leadership, which involves attending to the needs of the people in order to
maintain their love and affection.

1. The essence of Rizal’s travels.

- Rizal's travels are mostly intended to broaden his understanding beyond the
Philippines. He wanted to learn more and become an eye specialist so he could help her
mother with an eye problem. This explains why he conducts his research not only for
himself but also for her mother and for our country to be more receptive to reality. He
wanted to learn about European laws, cultures, and governments so that he might help
his own compatriots. Rizal travels to support and maintain unity among Filipino expats,
and by doing so, he gains new insights that enable him to make a contribution to our
country, as evidenced by the way he excels in all sectors with a simple and humble
approach. Education is an important aspect of life.

2. Would you consider Rizal a congenial person based on his interaction? Cite some instances
to support your answer.
-Yes, because Rizal's congenial ability allows him to achieve his goal in life. We all know
that it is hard to interact, communicate, and get along with other individuals, but before
Rizal, he overcame it with confidence. There are circumstances where a person feels
anxious about other people and is afraid to socialize because of a lack of confidence. For
Jose Rizal to be able to overcome it, he had to wash away all of his negativity, because
he believed that if he just shut up and quieted himself all the time, nothing would
change. Using those abilities, he conquered some obstacles in life and was able to
communicate with and know many people in his life.

3. Is it sensible to invest in education? Why or why not?

-Literally yes, because education is the most powerful agent we can use in our lives. We
can be successful if we just try to educate each other about what is right and what is
wrong. We need it, we all need it. Each one of us should invest in education to be able
to achieve success. It can change the life of a person because in education, we can learn
new things and get some ideas to use in the future. It improves our health and
livelihoods, contributes to social stability, and drives long-term economic growth.
Education can give us so many opportunities in our lives, and if we can get or not use
that method, it can lead us to a lack of access to education that will go to the root of
poverty. It can lead us to a better future, and it is hard now, but it will be worth it and
satisfying someday.

4. What can students learn from Rizal as regard his seemingly endless pursuit for knowledge?
- Students like me are very fond of reading books and one book I have read is Noli Me
Tangere which really gives me knowledge. .Numerous situations have changed, but
regarding Rizal learning nowadays, it is also used. Rizal's importance is that he gives so
many ideas and teachings in relation to present conditions and situations in society. We
can also learn and encourage others to apply such ideas to current social and personal
problems and issues, to develop an appreciation and deeper understanding of all that
Rizal fought and died for. According to his endless pursuit of knowledge, it means that
Jose Rizal gave us a way in to a strategy. Like him, he also encountered difficulties in
some situations involving education or economic issues, but if we just comprehend the
words that we don’t know, we can really get the right answer. He inspires us by studying
and gives us awareness of the ideas that our country was founded upon, allowing us to
become better citizens of our own country.
5. If given a chance, would you pursue further studies like the national hero? Why or why not.
-For me, if I am given a chance to pursue further studies, my answer will be yes, because
in these words, there are a lot of things we should know and explore. There are
phenomena that haven’t started yet, and by that, I'd want to discover them and learn
about the little things that could help human existence. Learning about things hasn’t
had an ending. Instead, there has been no ending to it. Further studies means more
knowledge to comprehend and value. Just like our national hero, Jose Rizal, who
explored in his time. He discovered many things and even helped our country. That is
why I would want to pursue more. He faced hardships in life, just as we do. We needed
obstacles before we achieved our goal, because in this life, there is no easy way to get to
the top. It is not easy that on the first try you are able to reach the top, but instead we
need more tries to accomplish what we really want.
