Beginning Reading using Marungko Approach

DATE: September 1, 2022

1. Relative to DepEd Order No. 12 s. 2015 entitled the guidelines on the Early
Language, Literacy, and Numeracy Program: Professional Development
Component, this School shall conduct the School-based to Grade-One,
Grade- Two, and Grade Three Teachers in Filipino on September 23, 2022
at 2:00- 3:30pm in Bldg. 5, ICT Room.

2. The objectives of the training are:


 to improve reading and numeracy skills of Kinder to Grade 3 pupils,
following K to 12 Basic Education Curriculum by establishing a sustainable
and cost-effective professional development system for teachers;
 to enhance teachers' competence in the teaching of reading using phonics
in the primary grades most especially in Grade One; and
 to enable teachers to instill in the minds of the pupils to communicate in
written and oral forms through effective reading instruction.

3. Participants to this SLAC session are all Grade-One, Grade- Two, and Grade
Three Teachers in Filipino as well as grade 4, 5, and grade 6 adviser
teachers including relieving teachers for the month of September, 2022.

4. No registration fee will be collected. Participants are expected to provide their


own snacks.

5. To facilitate the smooth conduct of the activity, the key teachers were
assigned to be members of this LAC session’s team. Please refer to
enclosure 1 for the task assignment and enclosure 2 for the terms of
reference.

6. Immediate and wide dissemination of this memorandum is desired.
