SHAPE TOLERANCES
HOT ROLLED STRIP IN COIL, SLIT COIL AND SHEET
The tolerances for SSAB's hot rolled strip products comply with the requirements of EN 10051:2010,
and the improved offer is presented as fractions of EN 10051:2010 for easy comparison.
Other options for narrower or customer specific tolerances are available upon request.
Tolerances down to 1/3 EN 10051:2010 are available after special agreement, with limitations
depending on specific grades and dimensions.

3 Dimensional and shape tolerances – Hot rolled strip in coils and cut to length
Thickness tolerances (1/1 EN 10051, EN 10111 category) for SSAB Form.
For thicknesses above 11 mm the tolerances are SSAB specific since the
standard is only applicable for thickness ≤ 11 mm.

WIDTH TOLERANCES
Width is measured at a point at least 40 mm from the edges for products with mill edge and
at least 25 mm from the edges for products with cut edge.
Width tolerances for SSAB Boron, SSAB Domex®, SSAB Form, SSAB Laser®1) and SSAB Weathering.

Closer tolerances on width for slit strip are available after special agreement.
3)

FLATNESS TOLERANCES
The flatness tolerances below are an addition to the guarantee in EN 10051:2010.
Deviation is measured when the sheet is resting freely on a flat and smooth surface. Measurements
are performed with a 1 meter straight edge in accordance with measurements praxis in EN 10029:2010.
The maximum deviation from flatness is guaranteed in accordance with the table below,
excluding edge areas of 25 mm width and sheet ends of 100 mm length.
Brand Max. flatness deviation in delivery condition Max. flatness deviation after laser cutting
SSAB Boron 6 mm/m -
For sheet/plate with a nominal length l ≥ 5 000 mm and widths w ≥ 600 mm, the edge camber
shall not exceed 20 mm for any length of 5 000 mm in the case of sheet/plate with mill edges
and 15 mm in the case of sheet with trimmed edges.
