Module 4 B - Areas of Irregular Boundaries
Module 4 B - Areas of Irregular Boundaries
a) Trapezoidal Rule
Using Trapezoidal Rule , determine the area of the of the lot bounded by the
river side where offset were taken as indicated.
1.2+0
A = 5( + 10.4 ) = 31.2 m2
2
1
AT = 31.2 + (1.2)(3) = 33 m2
2
Using Simpson’s One-third Rule , determine the area of the of the lot
bounded by the river side where offset were taken as indicated.
Solution:
Using Simpson’s One-third Rule which is only applicable for even equal interval separate the area with 2 m
interval from the whole area. As shown.
4
A = 3 [(1.4 + 0 + 2(3.3) + 4(7.1)] = 48.53
1
AT = 48.5 + (1.4)(2) = 49.93 m2
2
2A =|460,502.41|
A1 = 230,251.2 m2
AB=√23.522 + 486.952
AB=487.51
