The teacher will post sentences on the board. The students will explain the
difference of the two sentences posted.
The Janitor waxed the floor. The Janitor accidentally slipped on the
waxed floor.
Process questions:
1. What have you observed from the sentences constructed?
2. What do you think is the use of the word waxed in the first sentence? How
about in the second sentence?
C. ABSTRACTION
Verbal is a verb form used as a noun, adjective or adverb. The three kinds of
verbals are participle, gerund and infinitive.
D. APPLICATION
The students will be divided into 4 groups. Each group will be given verbal
words to use in constructing sentences. Each group will choose a representative to
present their output in front.

Direction: Identify the type verbal used in the sentences whether it is gerund, participle
or infinitive.
