Recall times when you have been a manager, during those times, do you think you displayed more

manager skills or leadership skills?

I displayed more leadership skills. I turned into a leader in my previous role as a manager

because, throughout that period, I worked at any level required, regardless of my official status. I believe

that the ability to lead is crucial to my success because a strong leader can inspire my teammates and me

to work together to accomplish our goals.

c. Compare those to the characteristics of a good leader and a manager you learned in class

The characteristics of a good leader and a manager you learned in class. The critical distinction

between leaders and managers is that leaders have followers while managers have employees. A

successful business owner must be an effective leader and manager if they want their employees to

share their dream for the company's future success and work together to achieve it. Managers exert

authority over subordinates because of their high ranks and clout in the company. Leadership is the

competence to inspire people to follow your lead. Managers don't have to be leaders, but it only takes

one who is excellent at management to make a difference. Influential leaders can inspire followers to

adopt new ideas and behaviors by demonstrating their flair and authority in a group setting.

2. Explain by example the conceptual skills of leadership. Why is it important to the top

managers?

The word "conceptual skills" refers to a wide range of abilities, including thinking critically,

creatively, and articulately. Those in positions of authority and management must pay special attention to

them. A person's ability to think conceptually becomes increasingly valuable at higher levels of an

organization. The ability to conceptualize and imagine the whole business is an essential talent for

managers. Decisions made by managers have far-reaching consequences. Thus they must have the

conceptual ability to grasp those consequences.

3. If you are the Chief Nurse of a hospital, give example at least each of the major function of a Chief

Nurse.

The major function of a Chief Nurse. The functions of a Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) often

include determining what makes up adequate care for patients, developing procedures and protocols for

providing such care, and supervising nurses' efforts. Most CNOs are employed by healthcare institutions,
such as hospitals, clinics, private companies, and government organizations. A nurse's primary function is

to care for patients, including meeting their basic physiological requirements, promoting health, and

responding to medical emergencies. Nurses keep close tabs on their patients and document any changes

that may be important when making treatment decisions.

a. Following steps in developing a policy, give 2 example of policy in a hospital where you are

working.

Patient care policies- The first look for examples of health policies is at policies aimed at patient care.

As the kind of care provided at each institution varies, it is impossible to create a uniform set of patient

care rules that applies to all of them. No matter the size of your organization, from a large hospital across

several states to a local podiatrist office or rehabilitation center, it is essential to have rules that govern

how patients are treated at your institution. Examples of topics that your facility's policies should cover

include the operations you provide, the diseases and injuries you treat, when to refer patients to other

institutions, and when to transfer them. Patient care plans should detail how to manage specific medical

scenarios, such as contact with body fluids or an emergency.

Workplace health and safety policies- Since patients are the focus of your health care policy, it only

makes sense to also provide coverage for your most valuable resource: your workers. Because they are

the most critical asset, healthcare workers should have access to and be protected by rules that prioritize

their well-being on the job. This is particularly true due to the increased health dangers that healthcare

workers confront compared to other fields. Personal protection equipment (i.e., when do they need to

wear gloves, masks, and more? ); exposure to substances like chemicals, infectious agents, or

medications; and physical dangers in and around the institution are all topics that may need to be

addressed in employee rules for healthcare facilities. Making workers aware of these risks and providing

them with protective regulations and procedures is a must.

b. What is its importance to the operation of a hospital nursing service?

The importance of the operation of a hospital nursing service are the provision of competent nursing

care is essential to the provision of adequate medical treatment. Nurses work to enhance the effectiveness

and safety of patient care in healthcare facilities. They serve in several capacities, from direct patient care

to management to education to quality assurance. The ability of nurses to interact with patients in a way

that is both professional and compassionate has the most significant potential for enhancing the quality of

care patients receive. Nurses spend the most time with patients, making them well suited to educate them,

assuage their worries, and calm their anxieties.
