The Cause of Malaysia Flash Floods

Today, we can see that Malaysia is becoming more and more complicated.
However, without our knowledge, the progress and complexity of the processes that
have been created has led to tragedies, particularly in the area of environmental
protection. Flash floods are a natural disaster that have become a national concern and
are frequently discussed by politicians and the general public in this country. This is one
of nature's catastrophes. Thus, there are a number of factors that contribute to the
escalation of this situation, and drastic and thorough steps must be done to prevent a
longer-term disaster.

Most of the time, flash floods are caused by a few people who think that making
progress to modernization is more important than protecting the environment, which is
what gives life to everything else in the world. The reporter said the uncontrolled logging
of forest areas for development and housing almost destroyed the Bukit Cerakah
Agricultural Park. This shows that people don't know how to care for the environment.
Flash floods and the loss of rain-gathering areas were both caused by this clearing of
virgin forests in Malaysia.

It is also possible that uncontrolled farming methods and construction projects in

steep locations will result in flash floods. Landslides occurred in the Cameron Highlands
as a result of the lack of trees that might hold the ground in place. Citizens' lives could
be put in danger, and even the Earth's ecosystem could be threatened as a result of this
situation. Factors like compaction make it hard for the soil to hold more water. This, in
turn, increases the amount and speed of water that flows into waterways and increases
the risk of flooding.

Waste disposal is also one of the main reasons flash floods frequently happen in
Malaysia. The way a few people today treat the issue of uncontrolled garbage disposal
is very clear. It was easy for them to get rid of the garbage. They threw it in a river and
thought that the current of the river would move it to other places. The rubbish was
stuck in the drain. Blocking the drain will make the water level rise. It's because of this
attitude that the drain water doesn't flow smoothly, and when it rains a lot, the drain can't
handle so much water, so it will overflow and flood the nearby area.

The next reason for flash floods is that the water drainage system is not
functioning properly, which also contributes to them. This is due to the fact that people
who live in residential areas are not very responsible. As a result, the drainage system
becomes blocked and ceases to function. The selfish and irresponsible human mindset,
on the other hand, did not attempt to clean the drain on its own. The only thing they
could hope for was that the city would clean it for them.

Following the problem of flash floods, it is necessary to develop and implement

effective strategies for dealing with these issues. In this scenario, the best way to
determine whether or not the environment is safe is to gauge the level of awareness
among the general public. To think properly about how vital it is to protect the
environment, people in society must be open-minded and sensible in their approach.
Children must be taught about pure values from an early age if they are to have a
chance of remaining alive on our planet. As Betrend Russel puts it, "a happy man is a
man who lives for nature, rather than for himself." This is in accordance with his good
advice.

Additionally, in order for the water drainage system to function properly and
effectively, the work of deepening the river must be completed in addition to the cleaning
of the water drainage system. As a result, the drainage system must be maintained and
examined on a regular basis to ensure that it functions properly. This is important to
note since there are housing areas that have been created with the most up-to-date
drainage systems, but the water from the ditch cannot travel to the nearby housing
estate before the water can flow into the river, thus this must be taken into
consideration. It is also necessary for the community to change its negative view by
avoiding discarding trash into rivers and instead dumping it in the appropriate rubbish
collection area supplied. This has the potential to indirectly nurture pure values in their
hearts while also demonstrating the effectiveness of government-organized efforts such
as our river love campaign in the process.

To handle the problem of deforestation, such as that caused by logging, the

government must limit the amount of forest that can be harvested and reduce the
number of logging permit holders to logging companies. Specifically, this is done to
ensure that forests that are beneficial to the Earth's ecosystem are not illegally cut
down. In this way, the upkeep of this forest also contributes to the absorption of
rainwater, which helps to prevent flash floods. In addition, appropriate fines and the
revocation of the licenses of illegal logging companies should be used to ensure the
safety of the environment. An additional point to keep in mind is that trees that have
been cut down should be replaced with new trees to prevent flash floods from occurring.

The next stage is to begin farming in a systematic manner while avoiding

harming the environment as much as possible. Among the methods of reducing the risk
of flash floods include crop rotation, the farming of terraced crops, the farming of striped
crops, and the use of contour plowing to cut the land. As an example, take a trip to Bali,
where Indonesia farms rice on terraced fields.

People who live in a government-run country have to deal with this issue on a
regular basis. As a result, the central government must ensure that local authorities can
carry out all of the plans that have been made. In the end, people must conduct more
research, examine natural phenomena more deeply, and think more clearly about them
in order for society to get more knowledge and information about them.
