• Create a model showing the communication process in Facebook (Screenshot an
example of communication on Facebook). Explain the model using the Berlo’s Model
of Communication below.

Berlo’s model has mainly four components to describe the communication

process. They are sender, message, channel and receiver. Each of the
component is affected by many factors. Sender is the source of the message
or the person who originates the message. The person or source sends the
message to the receiver. The following are the factor related to sender and is
also the same in the case of receiver. The model also focuses on encoding
and decoding which happens before sender sends the message and before
receiver receives the message respectively

ACCESS – What kind of content she received, and how did she get it?

EVALUATE – What is the purpose/goal of the sender? Is she aware about the
purpose/goal of the sender?

✓ The purpose of the sender is to scam the receiver? Yes, she is aware about the
goal of the sender.

CREATE – How did she respond to the sender? Why do you think she respond in that
manner?

✓ She responded to the sender by sending scam message also. She responds in
that manner to trick the scammer/sender.

ACT – Why did she take a screenshot and tweeted the conversation she had with the
sender?

✓ For me, she took screenshot of the conversation and tweeted it to inform others
how to respond in those kinds of messages they received.
