Concept:
Sounds are something that you hear, or what can be heard. The pitch of a sound tells us how high or low
a sound is. The volume of a sound tells us how loud or soft a sound is.

Classification of Sounds Heard

Soft sound has a low volume. It is quiet and not harsh.


Examples: whispering rustling leaves

Loud sound has a high volume. It can be easily heard.


Examples: ambulance fireworks

High sound is high in pitch.


Examples: playing a violin bird chirping

Low sound is low in pitch.


Examples: human heartbeat lion roaring
