Location Sitio Binagyohan, Brgy. Sainz
Participants Institute of Agriculture and Life Sciences of Davao
Oriental State University
Collaborators Community Environment and Natural Resources Office
(CENRO)
Budget One Thousand Pesos Only
Donor Sir Joshua Donato
Rationale One June 7, 2022, the Scientia Naturalis Societa
Organization, in collaboration with Community
Environment and Natural Resources Office of Davao
Oriental and volunteers successfully held a Plant Growing
Activity as part of the celebration of Philippine Eagle
Week (PEW) and Environment Day at Mati Protected
Landscape (MPL) in Sitio Binagyohan, Barangay Sainz.

Sir Wilson Oncordo delivered a fast refresher of how to

correctly plant a seedling, information about tree
structure and mangroves, understand what they need, and
how they grow before the students planted the Narra
seedlings. He also addressed the growth process and the
benefits trees bring in our communities.

Subsequently, due to our commitment to preserving life

and a diverse environment, the activity provided us with
the opportunity to be one of the responsible people to be
thanked for future regenerative development because
trees promote a strong economy and can provide a variety
of resources to those in need. While cities are becoming
hotter, trees can help to cool them down. They give
animals with both habitat and food. Finally, trees are
important green infrastructure for storm water
management. The investment in urban forestry yields a
significant return on investment. We as the competent
individuals are needed because it is us who understand the
subtleties of the built environment and trees as we
traverse this human-dominated period as we carefully
build the cities of the future.
