What sort of leader are you?

Complete the following quiz to find out and put your results below: What's your leadership style?

Score Comment

21 You lean toward a democratic or participative style of leadership. You tend to set
the parameters for the work and have the final say on decisions, but you actively
involve your team members in the process.

This style can build trust between you and your people, as they'll likely feel
engaged and valued. But it's not great in a high-pressure situation that requires a
fast turnaround, as it will slow you down. And, if you dislike disagreement or
conflict, you might struggle with how people respond to the consultation. Read
more below.

Your chosen
Leadership Style to be Authoritarian and Democratic
used in the session
Authoritarian: Although our session mainly focuses on
democratic leadership, we will implement authoritarian leadership
in the first 10 minutes of our session, which is the warm-up part.
This is when three of our members will delegate each team on
their exercises; then, they will be left alone to do them.
Reason
“How does this resonate to you?” Democratic: Firstly, each team should start off by nominating
“How does this work in relation to their scorer as in this game, only one person is allowed to score.
your chosen activity?”
As the democratic approach encourages conversation and
participation in the decision-making process, groups must have a
discussion to ensure everyone is comfortable with the position
they will be playing in. Secondly, everyone should decide and
agree on the person they will be marking, which is standard
protocol when playing ultimate frisbee.

DURATION OF
50 minutes
SESSION:

There are two aims for our session: Individual, and team

● The aim for the team is to show our chosen leadership skills
that is democratic and authoritarian. To demonstrate
authoritarian leadership, two of our team members will lead
the first warm-up. The democratic approach will be seen later
on when teams use their leadership skills as well as
knowledge from past experiences to communicate with each
other. Based on the result, they will most likely win the game.
AIMS FOR THE
● The aim for the individual is to lead and communicate with
SESSION
their teammates to win the most points. This will help that
individual to use his/her leadership skills in action.Firstly, we
will pick out two teams, and each team will have one leader. If
the other teammates catch it within the zone, it doesn’t count.
This will force the team to collaborate with their leader,
making it slightly difficult. Although it is a team-based game, it
will still be self-sufficient just like the rules for Ultimate
After that, we will comment on his/her skills based on the
qualities we assess.

DETAILED PLANNED ACTIVITIES *for individually assigned task(s)

Our group has worked on this plan for the last two weeks or so, our sport is Ultimate and we
want each and every player to have knowledge and experience of the game. In the case, that
they have never played Ultimate then we planned a warm-up first. This warm-up will hopefully
prepare the players physically and mentally for our chosen activity. After the warm-up program
hosted by Liam and Nguyen Anh, We have our first two teams play against each other. This
game will be watched over by Mina and Nina, they will be in charge and they will be the
referees of this game, the winning team will play against the team that didn’t play last round.
The next game will be watched by Me and Summer, the final game will be watched by Mina
and Nina again. The winning team from this game will (possibly) play against the leaders and
this game will be watched by all the leaders. Finally, when we finish we will give feedback to
the players and tell them what they may improve on next time they happen to play ultimate.
