POINTS To REMEMBER:
Doing your responsibilities will prepare you to face and fulfill greater responsibilities in the future. The
responsibilities that you have will enhance your knowledge, skills, and confidence toward self-growth. Doing your
responsibilities will also contribute to help improve the lives of people around you. Being responsible also means
doing your obligations for the common good of the society and your country. Whatever duty you must have as an
adult should be done responsibly. Who do you have to know and do the different responsibilities you have as an
adolescent?
“No one lives only for himself. No one dies, just for themselves. We are all responsible to each other, God has
gathered us all to be with Him.” From a song, these lines make us understand the importance of meeting our duties
as God’s creatures. Being accountable reflects a person’s true personality. This is because it is innate in man. The
person who turns away from it can be compared to a person walking without a head (Alejo, P.B. 2004). So, as early
as now, start responding to your responsibilities - especially in meeting the most important human duty: to achieve
personal fulfillment, to seek holiness, to know, love and serve God freely. This challenge is not easy. But you must
act to address it. It is important to step into the next stage of your life. And your success in the later stages is the
foundation of shaping your personality.
Traits such as self-discipline, willingness to sacrifice for the common good, and taking active role for the betterment
of the society (common good) and country are the characteristics of a responsible person.
All responsibilities teach new knowledge and skills that will be needed to prepare adolescents for greater
responsibilities in the future.
You must know and act out the responsibilities as a child, student, citizen, believer, media consumer, and steward of
nature.
Have a positive attitude toward your responsibilities and remember the benefits that you get from doing them.
A person committed to his/her roles and responsibilities will become responsible adult.
