ORGANIZATION AND SITUATION 2

Organization and Situation

The organization I choose is Jump Street. This organization is an indoor adventure park

for kids located in Glendale, Arizona. Here they have wall-to-wall trampolines, doge ball courts,

and unique activities everyone enjoys. Living in Arizona summers get hot, and this is a great

place to cool down and play. They offer passes by the hour, day passes, and you can plan

birthday parties.

My role in this organization was as a party host. Each weekend we would have up to 30

parties with 7 employees running them. Before the weekend, the 3 head party host (including

myself) would plan the parties and schedules for each host. When hosting we would first have to

set it up with tablecloths and decorations. From there we would greet the party guest and get

everyone checked in to start jumping. They would get an hour to jump, then come back to the

party area where we would serve them pizza and cake they provided. Once they were done, they

would jump for another hour then we would check them out.

When working in this organization, I didn’t have any big situations except for one. Once

when I was working, I got called into my manager's office. She sat me down and asked if I was

stilling my tips from party hosting. With the tip, they go to all the hosts and are separated evenly

into our paychecks. She noticed that my tip was very low from others. I was confused and

scared. I thought she had done something wrong but didn’t want to say so. She took me off the

schedule for two weeks, and I was ready to quit. The next day my supervisor called me and

wanted to get down to the problem. She looked back on all my receipts and entered them all in.

She found that I ended up making the most tips that weekend and, found that the manager didn’t

look at the cash tip. I got put back on the schedule but never an apology from the manager.
