Assignment: Ethical issues

Reference: Personal experience

What: Taking credit for someone's work and effort
When: Way back 2021, it was around the month of August I attended a meeting.
Where: At Prk. Panaghiusa Pawikan Learning Hatchery Center since I am a new
member of the Bantay Pawikan organization in our community.
How:
The meeting was held twice a month every month, so the leader of our group said
that we would bring any kind of food, that time I didn't bring any but my aunt brought a
"Dabo and cook banana”, while the other parents brought rice, fish, etc. as a new
member I just listen and observed the flow of the meeting and my fellow members, after
the meeting we ate lunch together with the staff came from General Santos. After we
finished we clean the area and then went home, later that afternoon my aunt told me
that she heard that the staff gave money to the leader of our organization because she
claimed that she prepared all the food on that meeting. Although she also brought food,
but not all the food serve on that day, The money was a compensation for the food
being prepared, and she pocketed all the money without informing the other members.
Personal Reaction
My personal reaction on this issue is that this conduct is not good and fair, not
just for those who have prepared the food, but for the entire organization. This conduct
can ruin trust and unity to all members of the organization , and could ruin trust and
respect of the members to the leader. The leader must not take credit to all the efforts
being put by the other members to the staff, and the money must be shared to the
organization or to the members who have prepared the food. This ethical issue cannot
be ignored because this is not good and fair, and could weaken and discouraged
members of the organization.
