INTRODUCTION Questions: 1. How would you describe yourself in terms of personality traits? Which of them are your strengths? 2. Which situations of aspects of yourself are challenging for you? Why? 3. What is important to you? What are your values? 4. Which activities would you like to choose for your creativity, activity and service? (This is just a rough sketch of a plan which you develop further in the coming weeks.) 5. Which potential CAS activities are easy or comfortable for you and which are more difficult? Answers: 1. My personality traits are curious, honest, loyal, impulsive, quick-thinking¸ caring and sometimes impatient. Of those my strengths would be loyal, honest, curious, caring. 2. Being impulsive and impatient is a bit challenging for me because it leads me to making some decisions that I might regret later, because I often don’t think twice about the things I do I sometimes do things I normally wouldn’t. 3. Things I find important are friends, family, happiness, health, and honesty. My values are loyalty, honesty, kindness, compassion and understanding. I often look for these values in my friends. 4. For creativity I would cook, which I do every week for my family, for activity I would go on bike rides, and for service I am apart of Interact rotary club and I take part in their activities. 5. Creativity is easy for me because I already cook each week for lunch, so this isn’t difficult for me. Activity is a bit of a challenge because I had an injury this year and can’t attend my regular sport activities so I have to come up with other ones. Activity Planning Form Activity name: weekly lunch CAS strand: Creativity Cas Stages: 1. Investigation Purpose and goals of the activity: Cooking each week helps me further my culinary skills and makes me better at cooking, as well as it gives my parents a meal each week that they don’t need to prepare. It also makes me a more valuable person with useful skills. 2. Preparation Each Saturday I buy ingredients alone and cook a meal for me and my parents, this meal must always be made from scratch. This will test and further my cooking skills. 3. Action Each Saturday I take some time to cook a homemade meal from scratch for my parents. 4. Reflection After each lunch I listen to constructive criticism and implement some of the ideas into my next meal, I always feel very accomplished after a lunch because I know that I myself made that and not anybody else 5. Activity name: Bike ride
CAS strand: Activity Cas Stages: 1. Investigation I have always liked biking and both me and my parent’s bike often. This will further my stamina and strength. The purpose of this CAS activity is to stand in as a replacement until I fully recover my foot and can play badminton again. 2. Preparation Each month, I will go bike on a predetermined route, typically from 30 - 40 km or more. 3. Action Me and my father will take our bikes and bike once a month on a weekend, with him with me he will motivate me and help me improve myself. 4. Reflection After each session I will see how fast I was going and how my stamina held up, tracking my progress of each session. 5. Demonstration I will share my experiences through CAS portfolio.
Activity name: Interact club
CAS strand: Service Cas Stages: 1. Investigation I am interested in the concept of Interact as well as the actions they organize. It’ll improve my social skills and I can take part in actions that help my community. It will also help to improve my communication skill with the other members of the club. 2. Preparation I will go to the weekly meeting and hear about the further plans of the club regarding actions and other club related activities. 3. Action Every once in a while there will be a activity the club will take part in, like cleaning the woods, that will be for the good of the environment or the community. 4. Reflection After each action I will reflect on how much I contributed and if it was enough. 5. Demonstration I will share my experiences through CAS portfolio.
