Formal ASB Meeting

September through Homecoming

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-----------
Upon the closing of the first quarter of my senior year, I have been nothing
but involved. I have attended many volleyball games along with the football
games to cheer on our school. Through this beginning of my year, I have
already conducted 4 rallies and have completed my first homecoming with
leadership and my last homecoming ever as a Ripon High Indian. Although
homecoming was very stressful, I was so excited to live it up and go all out
with my leadership class. I was honored to be crowned Homecoming Queen
for the 2022 school year and was so excited to take home a win with my
class. I have realized that being involved with this leadership program helped
me branch out even more, make new connections, and get involved.

Position Assessment: Upon my first year of leadership and being Rally

Commissioner, I have a lot of responsibilities and new things to learn. I had to
conduct 3 rallies for homecoming: the Pep Rally, Candidate Rally, and the
Night Rally. Jaydin and I worked hard to complete all three rallies while also
being involved with all things Hoco crazy! We were able to put on the Pep
Rally to kick off the Homecoming week and get everyone pumped up to see
what next week brings. We then had to conduct a Candidate Speech rally on
Monday. Since Jaydin and I were both on court, it would be stressful and a lot
to juggle on one plate while having to perform a dance and a speech. Luckily
we got some help from Ava Keast and Elias Ramirez to help conduct the
show. Jaydin and I thought they KILLED IT! For the Night Rally, it was a little
more laid back and fun. This rally was to display the lip sync performances
that each class has worked hard on and also play some games and have
some chants to see who has the most spirit and gains some extra spirit points.

Standing Committee: For the standing committee, I helped with setting up for
the Senior Float. I brought the barrels and an extra costume to help decorate
and spice up the float! I also helped with decorating the gym for the class
section decorations!
Mentor evaluation (Core Camp to Present): My mentor has helped me
greatly in this program from the beginning to now. My mentor and I have gone
to lunch to discuss leadership activities, ideas to bring to the table, and to get
to know each other on a more personal basis! Sophia always makes sure to
keep me in the loop on events. She never fails to send me friendly reminders
of when assignments are due, what meetings are coming up, or if i need help
with any assignments.

Concerns: Some concerns I have within the leadership program are

consistency and communication. In the consistency path, I think during
Homecoming especially, there were many things to get done and while some
were working, others were lounging around on their phones. I think this can
totally be fixed and we can get the motivation to the level it needs to be at.
Along with communication, I hear of a lot of miscommunication within the
classes. Not particularly my class, but other classes. It is one of our core
principles, but it is one of those things that can get twisted if not
communicated correctly.

Positive Comments: I have many positive comments for my first official

quarter of leadership. I have felt very included in the program for my first
quarter of leadership. I do like the way we vocalize the positives and
negatives for every event we attend or host. Especially during this past
homecoming, we were able to discuss the pros and cons of the week to then
take forth to next year to help improve and change! Along with discussing the
positives and negatives, we will be able to hear not only the peers and
teachers, personal feelings we may have, but also some of the voices from
the students. We can use this form of communication to help improve the
event for next year or help improve the next events we will host. This will help
improve efficiency, communication, decorations, and organization.

One Change I’d Like to See: One change I'd like to see within the leadership
program is to work on unifying. Having each of the classes work as a whole
together and not getting upset with each other would be really nice. Another
change would be to also have more uplifting conversations within our classes
and maybe as a class as a whole. We can't spend all of this time being so
negative with each other, we need to lift eachother up and move along to
improve with one another.

My Impact: My impact I feel that I have given to the leadership program as a

whole is positivity and more creative ideas. When it came to homecoming or
even within class discussions, I always made sure to shine some light on the
shady party. During the conducting of the rallies, I also made sure to keep up
with my communication within the group involved in the rallies. Another way I
have made an impact was making sure others feel heard, whether it be asking
what things I should add to the rally or somethings I can improve on, I always
want others around me to feel heard.
