FOREWORD AND PREFACE

This workbook is designed for a one semester course in Curriculum Planning


and Development for teacher education students of tertiary level who wish to learn
the basic concepts and principles of curriculum planning, curriculum development,
curriculum implementation, and curriculum evaluation.

This book would help capacitate students to describe the important roles of
the teacher as a curricularist who engages in the different facets of curriculum
development in any educational level; demonstrate understanding of the
fundamentals of Curriculum Designing; analyze what is a change process in
implementing the designed curriculum; expand knowledge about the different
curriculum models and why it is essential to regularly evaluate curriculum; and
design a miniature curriculum.

The authors of this text and workbook are not claiming sole ownership of the
information contained in this book. Many of these were adapted from the work of
different authors. This workbook is designed for classroom use only and not for any
other purpose.
