METHODOLOGY

The following procedures describe how the samples collected from Drilling Operation
to Laboratory Testing. The mode of transportation has explained as well from the drilling
site in Tagum-Libuganon River Basin to Antipolo laboratory.
Drilling Operation
1. Gather all equipment;
2. Check all equipment if all functions properly then report back to field head and
inventory head;
3. Receive the order to proceed to the site from field head with location and orders
and instructions from field head and project manager;
4. Travel to site location with help of logistics team;
5. Contact field head and project head to ask for permission to proceed with the
location for their approval;
6. Unload the rig from transportation vehicle and move all required equipment
and accessories on to the targeted site;
7. Set up the tripod and the machine while installing side pump and flexible hose for
the water supply;
8. Report to field head that set up is complete and ready to proceed with the drilling;
9. Check in with project engineer and update a status on the on-going drilling operation;
10. Extract samples and immediately report to project engineer for the progress;
11. Take a picture of samples while in a core box;
12. Pack the samples in a proper container and label them accordingly with location
and borehole number and store them in a secure and safe location;
13. Take a picture in the rig with a clear and clean photo;
14. Record the progress in a log book of date and time of start to finish;
15. Have the logistics team pick up the samples and sign over the necessary documents
to turn over the samples; and
16. Logistic team delivers the samples and turn over the samples to the laboratory head
and sign documents for the turn over the samples.

The samples from Tagum will be delivered to Antipolo laboratory one time each week.
They are sealed with a meter of stretch wrap and placed on a corebox. When the settings are
done, the samples will be carried by a Hino Truck.
The mode of transportations by land and sea will take 2 days before the samples will
arrive to the laboratory. There are more than of 30 borehole samples can be distributed in a
single trip.
Laboratory Testing
1. Receive samples from logistics team and have them signed for record book
2. Laboratory technicians will prepare for grading and liquid limit
3. Grading:
Weigh the sample
Put it in the oven and dry sample. 115 deg Celsius minimum of 4 hours
Weigh again and dry the sample
Wet wash the sample
Put it in the oven again
Weigh the sample
Proceed to sieving
4. Conducting testing of grading liquid limit and plastic limit
