 Three Filipino Catholic priests, Mariano Gomez, José Burgos,

and Jacinto Zamora, were executed by garrote on February
17, 1872, in Bagumbayan, Philippines, by Spanish colonial
authorities on suspicion of subversion related to the 1872
Cavite mutiny. The term "Gomburza," which can also be
stylized as "GOMBURZA" or "GomBurZa," refers to these
three men.

 Maria Josefa Gabriela Cario de Silang, who led the Ilocano

independence movement against Spain from 19 March 1731
to 20 September 1763, was a military leader in the
Philippines. Her Tagalog name is [sila]. After Diego Silang's
murder in 1763, she succeeded him as leader of her people,
ruling for four months before being arrested and put to death
by the colonial administration of the Captaincy General of the
Philippines

 General Emilio Aguinaldo of the Filipino revolutionary

troops issued the Philippine Declaration of Independence on
 June 12, 1898, in Cavite el Viejo, Philippines. It proclaimed the Philippine Islands’
independence and sovereignty from Spanish colonial control.

 The Katipunan, officially known as the Kataastaasan,
Kagalanggalangang Katipunan ng mga Anak ng Bayan[1] or
Kataastaasan Kagalang-galang na Katipunan ng mga Anak ng
Bayan[5][6][7] (KKK;[a] English: Supreme and Honorable
Association of the Children of the Nation; Spanish: Suprema y
Honorable Asociación de los Hijos del Pueblo), was a
Philippine revolutionary society founded by anti-Spanish
colonialist Filipinos in Manila in 1892; its primary goal was to
gain independence from Spain through a revolution.
