Modern breakthrough technology changes the minds of many people, some think that

spending a large amount of money to purchase a book of high value is a waste, instead a
photocopy responds to the requirement of people's consumer demand and cost savings.
This happens frequently in universities and high schools, expensive books that aren't paid by
students and they usually use a photocopy to replace it. This problem should be banned by
the universities or high schools for two reasons: respecting the copyright of the author and
complying with the provisions of the law.

Firstly, respecting copyright is very important to content creators and the development of a
country. For authors, respect will encourage creativity, promote their efforts, devote
themselves to research activities, improve technology, and create the most effective
products. For a country, it will promote legitimate business, the economy will develop by
creative content to support this, the government has issued regulations on the protection of
intellectual property rights, other individuals do not have the right to use the product for
profit, namely, to copy the work and spread it at a lower price, affecting the producer and the
author. According to the data, the percentage of students using photocopy is approximately
60%, because the school has not taken specific measures to prevent this situation.
Therefore, a regulation should be put in place to reduce this situation, such as warning
students, worse than banning them from studying. These are aimed at raising students'
sense of respect for copyright.

Moreover, the government enacted an intellectual property law in 2005 in Vietnam, cases of
copying a work without the author's consent and spreading it to many people for personal
gain will have a heavy punishment. Therefore, when a student copies a book, it violates
copyright and is liable for punishment. To illustrate this point, in Vietnam, regulations have
been promulgated in 2020, individuals who take advantage of social networks to arbitrarily
share journalistic, literary, artistic, or published works without the author's permission may be
fined from 10 million VND to 20 million VND. To avoid this problem, schools should
encourage students to use the original to avoid violations and achieve many benefits from
the original.

In conclusion, photocopy should be prohibited from being used in schools in current and in
the future. In my opinion, I always support the copyright and encourage everyone around to
respect the products of content creators instead of using a photocopy.
